DuncanVision presents: Boring Technical Sword Fight with the Black Knight

Come witness an overly careful Bryant as he swings his sword at all the right moments on a very predictable Black Knight. A lackluster finish as the Black Knight goes from half life to dead with a few twists (mostly caused by 'inaccurate controls' :) )

hey hey, slow down there Alaric, you've posted three videos since I last checked here, and as a warning, it is likely none of them will work once Zack finishes the recording fixes; so you'll have to do them all again :(

Mm, should wait like we are until you have something that will stand the test of time...

Is there an ETA on the first patch? I had a feeling it was still weeks away.

I can easily rerecord these 3 videos in the next patch though...especially if it promises better controls.

s'true :)

I wondered what the point of your `boring' version was until I saw the end. I love it when he decides to paralyse himself and you can just go and whack him over and over :D

Yeah, the Black Knight is mostly predictable.

When Bryant isn't on the ground (or table) the Black Knight simply walks around. The distance that he travels is somewhat random but he will usually at least walk up to the table's edge at a minimum. When he does this he will sometimes do the knee-slide.

Once Bryant is on the ground (or table), the Black Knight will in almost all cases turn towards Bryant within 2 seconds (although there is a small chance he will continue moving away from Bryant).

If Bryant is near the Black Knight there is a very high chance he will do a knee-slide. If the Black Knight decides to throw swords (usually when Bryant is far from the Black Knighty), there is a high chance he will keep throwing knives if you duck to avoid the swords and run to him to hit him with the sword. He may start moving at any time after the throw but chances are he'll just stay there and throw sword until this process is broken by Bryant standing up to shoot a fireball at an incoming gargoyle.

Once the knee-slide distance is mastered, the rest is just a boring technical process to get the Black Knight to knee-slide (takes longer to kill the BK) or throw swords (takes a shorter time to kill the BK since the BK can stay paralyzed that way for a while).

heh - you're teaching someone who has already mastered this... but... wondering whether you should be describing all this for people who haven't beaten him yet...

The info wasn't directed to you particularly. It's there for anyone to peruse. :)

ah, my comment was more about whether it was right to discuss how to beat the black knight outside the spoiler forums...

But the video shows how to do it anyway, the topic is marked spoiler!

Mo... Urusai! Okay... okay, sorry :P
