Title: Freeze in the Observatory
Description: ZOMG Bryant, you killed RtDC, you b****!
Richard - March 15, 2008 05:23 PM (GMT)
RtDC just locked up - music stopped playing etc... Was in the observatory, on Advanced, throwing a fireball at a bucket... Any more info, I can give, let me know. There's nothing in the system logs or console...
Managed to kill it with Cmd+alt+Esc and killing things until it vanished (since I couldn't see the dialog to see what was dying)
Apple PBG4 15.2" 1.67Ghz 1.25Gb RAM 10.5.2
Running full-screen
Not much else running in the background - web browser idling, and a terminal-based irc client connected.

Richard, if you can make it happen again, try to get a screenshot. That will help us figure out what was happening when it froze. Thanks!

I had one too Zack. If the game locks up and then quits, do you also want the OS-generated reports when the program crashes?

I had a freeze in the observatory too. I can't recall what was happening at the time. I solved it by moving to a different desktop via spaces and then force quitting. Of course, I did lose all progress.

I had another freeze in the observatory - zack I mailed you a picture in case it helps. Obviously not posting it since it contains lots of spoilers

So crop off the bottom part of the screenshot with the inventory stuff, that's what I did.

Yeah, at 79% where I was at the time, I had a full inventory, didn't want to show that :) But I realized afterwards that part of the bug was that I was alive with no health, so it would have been nice to see the empty health bar in my picture. Oh well I guess.

Well, you told him that much I suppose.

Interestingly, I had the same freeze. Same level, shooting rocks at a bucket.
Richard - March 19, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
have been talking to Zack on IRC, apparently he has fixed it. Not sure when the patch release will be. It was due to buckets getting stuck inside walls, and the collision detector going crazy...
YoMaster - March 19, 2008 07:13 AM (GMT)
yep this same thing happened to me. I got real close to a bucket behind a door and tried to mace it down... it jumped away and got stuck in the wall and I had to reboot :(
btw, the mace through the doorway is a great trick for dispatching knights!

Interesting, this could be helpful in Lab 2. But when I get there I usually have fireballs and the guards there don't respawn.

Again, see my film
here even if it doesn't play back, it ought to keep in sync long enough to see the guards get bludgeoned. You need to use the flail though, not a shovel-type, so that later on you can whack the barrel henchman in the potion factory.
