Title: News from.... Joe Williams?

Jon God - February 5, 2008 04:14 AM (GMT)
I just got an E-Mail from Joe Williams on the Deltao Tao Mailing list:

QUOTE
Delta Tao gave the rights to Dark Castle back to Mark Pierce, the
original designer, so Return to Dark Castle will be published by his
new company, Super Happy Fun Fun. When? We still don't know -- but
it's looking very, very close.

Check out this trailer:

It could mean anything...

why don't they take this a step further and update the RTDC part of the site? ...and by that I don't mean wiping it out.

okay, maybe that's what it would entail at this point.

Who knows anymore, maybe ZB asked him to send out that E-Mail which proves it's close?

Or perhaps he decided on his own.

As for your use of the Emoticons, that looks like the DC3 Death screen :P

Hey, Jon, I just noticed the description line for this forum still says so far we only have Zack M. Should we change it?

And by we I mean those of us with the power to do so.

Maybe they are just trying to get the word out to more people, so they asked Joe to email his mailing list to spread the word more. I doubt he knows anymore than we do.

Maybe. I just checked my email and I got it too. I didn't even know I had put myself on his mailing list :P

Jon God - February 5, 2008 06:34 AM (GMT)
I did, but it was so long ago, so I had forgotten.

Nice of him to do that, but for the otakus here, that's hardly news :P

Yup. Every little bit of press helps. :)

To bring up a new point, the subject of the email is: "[deltataonews] Return to Dark Castle Shipping Soon?"

Notice the word shipping. I'm sure he was just being general about that, but do you suppose there are plans to distribute hard copies? I personally doubt it, but I just thought that I would mention it....

Nope... I reckon it is just internet shipping...

No one would care what he was talking about other wise.

Anyways, No political discussions, they can ruin communities.

Probably, but I do remember reading references to boxed copies at some point, course that was probably five years ago. Personally I'd be more than happy with a download, don't have to wait for shipping that way.

I'd love a boxed version, but I also don't want to be waiting on shipping.

A box version would also seriously delay the game. It takes a lot of work to design box art and instruction manuals, etc. However, I do love them. I would be very excited about a box and booklet for RtDC. I would even pay twice, once to download the game the day it releases and a second time to obtain the box and booklet when it's released months from now (it would/should take months to properly design and produce the art and text for box/booklet/CD case/CD cover).

That said, I still have the original box for my copy of Dark Castle from 1986 ^_^ Well, technically it was my fathers copy, I couldn't even feed myself yet when the game was released.

Really? That's pretty spectacular. I still have the disks... *somewhere*..

And I would do the same, I promised I would frame the box if I got a boxed version, which I intend to keep.
