General Description: Built by years of service Jared has a natural bronze skin from his Arabic and Hindi lineage crossed with his father Irish and Italian background. His eyes are and unusual oceanic blue even without the Blue Lantern ring they ebb with a natural inner energy. He is cloaked in garbs and robes of blue appropriate for a ring bearer.



Personality: Jared is a centered man with a precise focus and unfailing optimism on life. He is a beacon of hope where ever he may go spreading light and the preachings of love to those he passes. He is a man who is on his quest to fulfill his life purpose. A purpose told to him by Ganthet the Guardian of the Blue Lanterns to be a beacon to guide the unsure and empower those whose heart and will may falter. He has been a chosen as a messiah despite his protests by Aliens in the far stretches of the universe.

A philosopher and man of an open mind, Jared has a respect for all religions and belief and is a practitioner of inner peace. Considered the strongest by far of any Blue Lantern prior he seeks ever more for inner peace a way against his past and a conclusion to unfinished business.

Powers: Blue Power Ring: The blue ring focuses it's wielder's unfaltering hoper and optimism, allowing the creation of constructs or forms, formed of sapphire energy. It is limited only by the imagination and hope of it's wielder, and that it has a finite charge.

Weaknesses: The ring's powers are susceptible to Fear (doubt) and Greed (Self Service), and as such, should the wearer feel any doubt or greed, he/she is vulnerable to the color yellow and orange. The ring has a finite energy charge, and must be recharged from a blue power battery, to function again, once the charge has run out.

History:

Jared Sigmund was the former best friend of Sean Masters growing up in Gotham. Throughout their high school careers they were the top of the top together, a dream team, who became a shining example of excellence for the schools alumni.

Whether it was out of friendship or mere skill time after time Jared has a come up second best. However there is one time Jared bested Sean in a home game, and it was the start of a downward spiral. Though the best of friends they had a vicious rivalry.

By the time they graduated they were both going to Met-U until Jared was run over by an unknown car damaging his chances for a College sports career which he prized over the academics. Sean drifted away a bit by bit as he strove to recover his mobility. With the help of his mother and a Hindu healer he was taught to seek inner enlightenment to overcome his physical turmoil.

Half way into the freshmen year of college Jared found mild recovery and had a dispute with Sean. Sean was displeased by Jared's decline of a future college career in hope of spiritual journey. Sean regarded him as "weak and irrational" because they could have been the greatest team to face this earth. Jared was sickened and sad at his best friends disapproval, so he left without any question.

After the blackest night the Ganthet, his mate, and the few Blue Lanterns that survived retreated into the far reaches of the universe into a sanctuary and lacked a strong example of a Blue Lantern Leader. Jared had been all across the earth by this time searching and studying many religions and beliefs to find a calm and peace. In his journeys he became a teacher of life, a sort of priest, with a goal to give hope to the hopeless.

Ganthet returned his gaze to Earth having found some of the most influential leaders for the Green Lantern Corps there. Out of hope there may be one more Leader strong enough to bolster a banner of valor and selflessness. It was one day where he saw Jared meditating in a serene peace upon a desert cliff face in the middle of a scorching sun. It was out of the mans mere spiritual strength and hope ebbing from him that the desert flames did not engulf him. Ganthet was inspired by the man reading his mind seeing the focus. He was a leader though he would deny it.

Jared at this time in his life had gained a new name since researching his heritage. Amal Rashid Aadi was his chosen name for his spiritual name. Ganthet called him on it as so in a serene blue light. Amal (Jared) thought he was being spoken to by god hearing the words he had been "Chosen as the Ring Bearer for a new era... a leader of a new dawn". As Amal accepted the light would fade and down descended Ganthet and the rest of the fledgling Blue Lanterns.

From that day Amal scoured the Galaxy becoming a hero to civilizations and a challenger for there causes bringing the light of the Blue Lantern in his wake. He found his purpose and became a student of Ganthet learning many of the things he as former Guardian of the universe had learned.

Amal is now on mission preparing to fight the intrusion of Yellow and Orange Lanterns on his domain. He is accompanied by his faithful squire Thoth Awan a sorcerer of the Magdali race of Aliens. Greed and the unstoppable Fear drench their futures, but Amal senses allies ahead. Particularly one Green Lantern that would hold the name Masters. Destinies unravel and there is hope for the heroes brimming in a new dawn.
