FIND YOURSELF A GIRL AND SETTLE DOWN, LIVE A SIMPLE LIFE IN A QUITE TOWN
WHAT YOU GONNA DO WHEN THE CROWD GOES AYO? WHY YOU STANDIN' ON THE WALL?

2:43. 2:47. 2:54. This was getting her no where! Claudia kept anxiously glancing up at the plain jane clock that hung against the ugly yellowing white brick walls of her classroom. They were being lectured about the importance of the 13th amendment...or was it the 16th? She wasn't sure. Dia didn't give a damn about government and she was only taking the class because it was required. She gave up glaring at the clock and decided, instead, to pass the last few minutes of class in a daze. She stealthily slipped one ear bud of Lady Gaga's new heart-shaped, bejeweled headphones, Beats, they were called, into her left ear. Placing her hand in the pocket of her shirt, (such a hand contraption!) and turned her mp3 player on, pumping up the volume until her teacher's voice was completely lost to her ears. She resisted the urge to bob her head along to The Raconteurs's 'Steady, As She Goes'. The raven haired fifteen-year-old wasted five minutes doodling in the margins of her notes. Truly epic drawings; robots, sea monsters, cereal boxes. . .you know the sort.
When the room got noisier with the shuffling of departed students, she lingered, momentarily confused because her music had been so loud she didn't here the dismissal bell. Retrieving from this short span of confusion, she darted out of the room as quick as she could. She had things to do! People to see! School was torture for the poor girl. An under-stimulating and completely wretched affair. She traveled down the hall, stopping by her locker to grab her books, stupid homework! She couldn't escape school no matter where she went. It was madness! Completely unfair and mean. Claudia heaved her overloaded bubblegum pink backpack over her shoulder, her bracelets and the keychains attached to the backpack's zippers jingling as she did so. She was about to slam her locker shut and dart for the door, but she caught a glance at herself in the mirror. She looked tired and as bored as she felt. She was suppose to meet up with Dodger in two hours for a night of giggling, pizza, and movies. She couldn't look icky in front of her best friend. She wouldn't stand for it. She leaned more into her locker, searching through the mess of clutter to find her make-up bag, her little body still swaying this way and that to Britney Spears.

Miyavi let out a sigh as he waited for the dismissal bell to ring, to signal the end of the day. It was his first day here, and already he wasn't all that fond of it. With his sharper eyesight, he could see every horrible flaw on the paint jobs of the walls. With his sharper hearing, he could hear people whispering about him, even as he sat there just now in class. He had heard comments, some of which had been nasty, as he passed people in the corridors earlier, as he sat by himself at lunch. It was doing his head in. Don't people have better things to do than gossip or make fun?, the voice in his head had growled more than several times today.

Scowling to himself, he folded his arms on the table and rested his chin on top of them. He understood why his mom made them move here - it was quieter, smaller than Salem. But things here looked set to be the same as they were in Salem; with him having no friends, being an outcast and a social reject. Glaring at the clock just to the right of the teacher, who was babbling on about who knows what, about who created what formula or whatever - Miyavi honestly didn't care -, he could practically feel every tick and tock of the god damn thing, reverberating through his skull.

Miyavi was up and on his feet before anyone else as the bell rang, and was out the door of the classroom in a flash, moving quickly through the hallways until he reached his locker. Pulling out his hoody, he tied it around his hips, before slinging his bag over his shoulder, opening it and putting another couple of things in it.

Leaving his bag open, he made his way down the corridor, dodging in and out of people, trying to get out before any other comments were made. He had no such luck, however, as a few boys from one of his classes starting calling out to him, calling him names, and making some other comments which were quite frankly racist. Choosing to ignore them, he pulled his Tokidoki ipod out of his bag, along with his large, almost matching headphones and placed them around his neck.

He was scrolling through the artist list when he was suddenly pushed from behind by one of the boys that had been saying stuff to him (apparently they didn't like being ignored). Not expecting the blow, he didn't have enough time to steady himself, and he fell forward, just managing to put his hands in front of himself to stop his face colliding with the floor. Although, this caused his bag to fall from his shoulder, most of it's contents spilling onto he floor, and his ipod fell from his hand, dislocating from his headphones, going skidding across the floor.

He heard cat calls and people laughing at him, which only made him get even more irritated. Letting out quite a dangerous growl, which only caused a few people to look at him in a mixture of bemusement and fright, he grabbed his headphones and put them back around his neck, before proceeding to pick up his papers, notebooks, a couple of manga volumes and any stationary that fallen out. Glancing around for his ipod, he spotted it after a few minutes, lying in front of a girls foot. Looking at the girl, he noticed that she wasn't paying attention, her head hidden by her locker door and obviously busy with something.

He was now faced with a slight dilemma. He didn't just want to reach around the girl legs, she might think he was perving on her, but that only left the other option - talking to her, and asking her to move. He quickly decided that the latter was definitely the best option, without a doubt. So, standing up and brushing off his jeans, he took a few steps over to the girl and saying, "Excuse me?". Then he noticed the earphones that she had in, so he tapped her gently on the shoulder and repeated himself, all the while trying his best to ignore the continuing teasing from the bullies.

Blissfully ignorant to the bullying that was occurring behind her, Claudia continued to search in vain for the tiny powder pink make-up bag with the white polka dots that she kept inside of her locker just in case an emergency like this one might occur. . .Only she couldn’t find it when she needed it. Her locker was simply brimming with old graded and/or over-due assignments that had never made their way to one of the big industrial trash cans that were tucked in the corners of the halls. She shifted through the rubble of damp papers, trying to avoid paper cuts and growing ever the more exasperated. Just when she was about to give up her search, something distracted her from her dismal defeat.
Feeling something solid thump against one of her slender shoulders, Claudia jumped. This rapid motion caused her to bonk her head on the metal shelf inside of her locker, which elicited a soft, high-pitched squeak from the girl. Rubbing at the spot on the back of her head, she stood straight again, careful not to hit her head this time. She made a comical ‘ouch’ face so that whoever had caused her to jump would know that no serious amount of pain had been inflicted and there was no need to fuss over her. She secretly hated being fussed over.
Spotting the boy, she was relatively certain that he was a new student, not having seen him before, she felt something pull at her stomach. Boys irked her. It was a simple fact. She did not trust them. They were slimy and cruel. The hatred was a little on the irrational side and she knew it, but it was what it was. Her past troubles with the opposite sex had left a permanent bruise on her perception of them as a whole. Ignoring the feeling of dread, she looked over his shoulder, past the stranger and towards the rest of her peers lining the hall. Judging by the snickering faces, she had clearly missed something. At least she hoped they weren’t just snickering because she had hurt her head...
    "Excuse me?"
“Yeah?“ Dia asked, trying to sound as kind and warm as ever. Judging by the look on the stranger’s face, he wasn’t having a fantastic day. She didn’t want to cause him anymore trouble than he had already endured.

Miyavi winced as the girl before him hit her head. Well, he didn't mean to cause that. Though the comical look she pulled as she turned around eased him some, relieved he hadn't caused her to hurt herself too much, but he asked anyway. "Are you alright?"

“Yeah?“

"Um..." Okay so it wasn't the best start, but he wasn't quite sure how to say this, and he had to grit his teeth together as the bullies called a few more comments over to him. Breathing out harshly through his nose, he managed to calm down and not say anything back. He'd learned in Salem that that only made things worse. "...My stuff fell, and my ipod's at your feet." he said softly, his usual animated self having vanished. "I didn't wanna just reach round your legs in case, y'know, you thought I was a perv..."

He cast a side-glance at the bullies, his eyes clearly showing dislike. They just sneered at him, leaning against the lockers a little away. Turning back around to face the girl, his eyes were lowered and his expression was downcast. Why can I never fit in anywhere...?

    "Are you alright?"
The petite model nodded her head reassuringly. “I’m alright.” She insisted, going on to rant that there was, “No brain damage. No biggie.” She shrugged her tiny, round shoulders and ceased rubbing the now sore circle of her scalp. Claudia shifted her weight to one side, readjusting her backpack’s placement on her shoulder. Her innocent contact-clad blue eyes widened as she stared at the stranger, waiting for him to speak in explanation.
    "Um..."
Dia tilted her head to the side, mentally urging him onward.
"...My stuff fell, and my ipod's at your feet."
Oh.” Claudia mouthed, her head drooping downward to look at the electronic rectangle. She removed her own glittering ear-bud, realizing that it was probably kinda rude to still be listening to her music whilst having a conversation.
"I didn't wanna just reach round your legs in case, y'know, you thought I was a perv...."
Right.” Dia said, a little more upbeat. Most guys wouldn’t have thought twice about reaching between her legs if they had a fair excuse. She appreciated that this new boy had more class than that. She bent down to retrieve the white music player. Jumping back up, she handed it to him with a smile. “Here you go.” She hesitated for a moment, unsure of whether to end the conversation right that second and go back to digging in her locker or if she should continue to speak to this boy. Catching the glare he sent the group of people lining the halls, her choice was made for her. “I’m Claudia.” She introduced, outstretching her hand. “You’re new, right? I know how that goes. I was new last year.” She informed with her most friendly smile.
