WOW, that is all I can say about the Mongols going 0-3. WOW!!

I always thought the Mongols were the 2nd best Culture in the set. Were they screwed by the dice or what?

Horemheb lost to Boudicca? Let me guees, you were playing Horemheb? You know you cant handle the pressure of playing the heavy favorite, {cough} Miyamoto vs Hector {cough}. :P

How did Mulan lose to Genghis? She is the Mongol meta card! You must have played Mulan. :P ;)

Not that big of a surprise that the Egyptians won set 2. Know that I think of it, everyone else was a toss up. Chinese have a couple of good promo weapons, Mongols have Batu but apparently he didnt do shit for the Mongols, and the Britons really only have the Stone but most of their warriors are low exp (5 or less).

I am looking forward to set 3 results.

I swear, you lose once with Musashi, and there's no respite...
To answer your allegations, yes I played Horemheb; no, lurch played Mulan. :P

Lurch threw me for a loop with his setup for Boudicca. I can't remember the cards, but it was a clever surprise. Of course, I followed up the loss by pounding Richard with Cleo. She was still at 6 life at the end of the game :D

The Mongols have it rough against their own Set. We were shocked, as well. Looking back, the big difficulty is the lack of variety in initiatives. And attack bonuses. Outside of Attila, or opponent's not having cavalry, there's not much help. Num Mor/Mangudai barely hits when the opponent has a bonus defense. In general, it seemed that every culture had reliable counters to the best Mongol setups.

Against other cultures, though, I'm willing to bet the Mongols will be much more stout.

As for the Britons, lurch loved using Alfred/Merrie Men. Usually followed by Excalibur/Lady, Alfred was the surprise stud of the Britons.

How soon after the release of set 8 will you start the Anachronism Cup?

Also, stop slacking and start posting the rest of the results. :P

Well, I'd like to start the Cup as soon after the release of Set 8 as possible -- It'll depend on when in March/April Set 8 comes out. In theory, I'd like to draw the groups two weeks before the release date, and play the first round of Group Play (16 matches) the day I get the cards.

Now, if AO would come out before then... my gods, this would be so much quicker. <_<

As for the rest of the qualifying results, you'll have to wait until Sunday. Lurch and I usually only get 6 matches in before he has to book it to his next gaming session. We'll be doing Set 3 this weekend, and should get to Set 5 before March. That'll leave Set 6 & 7 for March; if I can get lurch to miss a session or two, we might be able to leave only Set 7 for March.
