Just thought I'd introduce myself as I've just registered.
I'm a 34-year-old obsessive fan of Cathedral's early work. I bought "Forest of Equilibrium" on cassette way back in 1992 when I was a 15-year-old Death Metal fanatic, and it totally changed my life; it opened up a whole new world of colour, depth, emotion and poetry. It remains my alltime favourite Metal album, and my no.2 album in general (Mike Oldfield's "Ommadawn" just beats it to no.1).
In contrast, I really can't stand Cathedral's material after this album. The "Soul Sacrifice" EP is pretty good (mainly due to "Frozen Rapture"), and "The Ethereal Mirror" is bearable in hindsight, but basically Cathedral post-1993 doesn't exist in my universe. Sorry if that offends people on this forum, but that's just the way it is. I hope my passion for the early stuff makes up for it!
