Couldn't wait to buy "The Guessing Game". Their were a few things that
struck me about their new album or should i say cd, the songs are leaning
a little more in the progressive rock, pop, and late 60's and early 70's
psychedelia, and a little jazzy, but gee it's great though that they still
have that heavy metal doom laden edge. Originally when i first bought
and heard the album, hmm at times a strange mix, but the more you play the album it grows on you very quickly, all in all great stuff, let's hope we don't have to wait a long time before the next one. Just a short
note if my memory serves me well, if that could be confirmed, i think
Cathedral came out too Australia in early 1990's supporting "Paradise Lost"? Let's hope they can return in the future, an excellent return to form.
Well, The Guessing Game for me is one of the greatest albums, if not THE greatest album they've put out. Weird thing is, the first few seconds I had something like "is that all?", "Hey, where is my real Cathedral?" but then suddenly, when you got the point it went over to "wait, this isn't that bad, not at all,...actually...this is amazing". And I been listening to it serveral times a day for about 2 months and I still do serveral times a week. And it is really a real Cathedral album, you have to let it grow on you. If you like the album, be sure that after some time you will like it even more.
And just like you, I hope we won't have to wait another 5 years for their next effort.

I second that Hans, this album is really addictive. It has become one of my favorite, they did a great job, one more time.
