Amy Yuen was discovered amidst the chaos of Nagasaki, Japan around 60 years ago. Estimated to be about 3 or 4 years old, her past was a mystery, as was her heritage. Sold into the black market Amy was lucky enough to be adopted by the Yuen family and moved to America. Amy became a citizen and quickly grew to enjoy her American life, never seeking out the memories lsot to her.

She always seemed to have a connection with othe people. She was the type of girl who gained trust easily, and held secrets dearly. It was only natural that she became a psychiatrist when she became a woman. It was as she was working on her book on the psyche of Super Villian minds that she came in contact Jasmine Tsin. Bonding in part due to culture, Amy became the shoulder Jasmine could lean on. She stayed in touch with the woman, eventually meeting her husband Duncan McNeil and playing the role of Aunt to their daughter Callie.

Duncan was convinced that Amy has a latent Empathic ability, joking about it at first then truly believing it after confessing to her his secret identity during a conversation. He had no other explanation as to why she put every person she met at ease, coaxing their problems and secrets to the surface without even trying.

Despite their bond, the death of Jasmine hit hard. Duncan withdrew, and Amy was blocked by her own grief. She quit her job and took a year to gather herself. Since then she has volunteered her time and considerable wealth to help children displaced by crime in Freedom City, Amy willingly agreed to work with Duncan by guiding the newest superheroes work through teen angst as well as the trauma and drama of being a hero.
