Tanned and toned he wears his fine hair short and neat, and has penetrating cornflower blue eyes and slight dimples that girls tend to fawn over. His typical clothing is a pair of jeans and a sports themed shirts, especially ones from football and baseball teams. A small horizontal scar under his right knee is the result from where he had metal pins inserted after he suffered a multiply fractured leg during a freak accident in a Pee Wee football game.

Personality:Definitely an alpha type male, Gordon tends to be a bit hard nosed and serious about things though he can still apreciate a good joke now and again. More than anything he's ambitious and wants to be the best at everything he possibly can, from sports to schoolwork and even with relations with the opposite sex. Gordy loves a challenge and is willing to make every effort possible to surmount obstacles in his way of meeting them. Having been a member of many different teams, he not only knows how to work well with others but also takes a leadership role whenever possible which can make some people think he's a little too aggressive or overbearing. He will defer to someone else if they clearly show that they are his equal or better and have a better grasp on the situation though. Considering it a point of honor, Gordon tries his best not to lie but isn't above using a little white one to get people fired up and he knows how to cover his ass when need be. Gordon has two particular sore spots, his father and his father's partner Terrence being the first and he doesn't like talking about them at all. He only gets to see his little sister Susan on some holidays and during the summer and he misses her a great deal as well, keeping touch with her through emails and hand written letters.
Talents:Kinetic Redirection Field. Gordon's body is constantly surrounded by a nearly invisible field of reddish energy motes that cause kinetic forces directed at him to rebound back in the direction they came. Currently having little control over this power directly, the end result is that physical attacks (punches, kicks, baseball bats, bullets and the like) leveled at him are more likely to hurt the attacker than they are him. The field refracts the motive force behind such attacks to the point where bullets fired at him will flatten and then be shot back at the firer as flattened lead disks or a wooden baseball bat might crack in it's wielders hands before flying backwards to hit the attacker. The field is a bit inconstant though, so a very well aimed attack or one with more force than he could possibly turn back can still run the risk of hitting him. Also, Gordon has to concentrate to allow forces to pass through his field if he needs to (such as catching something tossed to him) or risk having it fly back out of his grasp. Whenever struck and activated, his redirection field glows bright red.
Through concentration and more than a little practice Gordon has learned how to control his field some, directing the rebounded force either below or behind him to let him rocket forwards through the air at a maximum speed of up to two hundred and fifty miles per hour. Unfortunately he lacks fine control over this ability and can't steer himself, so he moves in a straight line and could potentially collide with anything in his path. A collision at these speeds causes inertia to bleed off some of his momentum but can send him bouncing all around an area until he's finally slowed enough to come to rest. When concentrating to use this power Freedom Eagle is a little more vulnerable to physical attacks than normal and must fly instantly after absorbing an impact.
Sports An avid baseball and football player Gordon also likes basketball and soccer and knows quite a bit about the rules, history, and the famous players in these sports and has developed a high endurance that allows him to play or exert himself physically for long periods of time before he's worn out. He also knows how to fight decently, but doesn't know martial arts or anything just a few wrestling moves and how to give and take a good punch. A bit experimental Gordon will try anything from free hand climbing to skiing at least once, but usually pursues things regularly until he thinks that he's better than most people at them.
Jetpack and Grav Gauntlets With the assistance of Autumn Hunter's technological genius, Gordo now has the use of a jetpack that directs quick, rapid pressure pulses to set off his poers and give him thrust. Currently, he's capable of reaching speeds of up to two hundred and fifty miles per hour, but can only sustain them for very short periods of time as his suit doesn't have an oxygen supply. The grav gauntlets have miniature motors inside and allow him not only to strike hard enough to smash cinderblocks with a punch, but also to lift up to 1,200 pounds, although only in flight.
Leadership Qualities His extreme level of confidence and faith in himself as well as years of participation in team activities has given Crash an innate understanding as to how to motivate others better. With some words of encouragement and leading by example, Gordon can help inspire others to give something their best shot and succeed where they might have failed otherwise.
Shop Class Having taken shop every single year since starting middle school and put his usual fervor towards learning the skills Gordon is good at working with both wood and metal to create sturdy manufactured goods. Though he never spends too much time trying to make things pretty, he has an eye for wedding detail with sound construction and enjoys the smell of varnish, molten metal and sawdust.
Iron Stomach A trait that got him named "the garbage disposal" by some of his friends Gordon is capable of eating or drinking almost anything and avoiding ill effects from doing so. He's chewed tiny pieces from and eaten an entire Pepsi can for a fifty dollar bet before, and loves to consume dishes that other people consider far too spicy or acidic. He puts green chile peppers and hot sauce on almost anything he eats. Of course he can't drink battery acid or swallow a box of lightbulbs; he'd still suffer internal injuries.
Weaknesses:Lack of Control Since his powers are for the most part reflexive, Gordon doesn't have a whole lot of control when he's using them especially when he flies. Considering that he moves in a straight line he is quite capable of crashing into an innocent bystander, a teammate or causing property damage when his body hits and he tends to hold back a little in situations where using his powers could do something bad.
Vulnerability Though he's very well protected from most physical trauma Gordon can still be injured. He has no resistance to any sort of energy besides kinetic force, and can be burnt, frozen electrocuted or drowned just like any normal human. He can hold his breath for a bit but gasses can still effect him, and in addition physical injuries that don't involve excess force like walking barefoot on broken glass or handling razor wire can still harm him.
History:Born and raised in Albequerque and named after his grandfathers, Gordon initially had what could be considered an unremarkable, upper middle-class life. The oldest of two children born to Emily (a catering company owner) and Jakob (a computer security analyst), Gordon (or Gordo as his family called him) was an outgoing, respectful little boy who especially loved playing sports with other children. His parents enrolled him in Little League, Youth Basketball programs and Pee-Wee football, and he excelled in each and every one of those sports. It seemed that Gordon lived, breathed and ate physical activity but especially loved football. Unfortunately for him, a pile on in his first Pee Wee championship game resulted in him having his femur broken in three seperate places, an injury that kept him sidelined for the better portion of three months and caused him to miss being able to register for and attend his first year of elementary school until he was almost six. Luck was on his side, however as the break didn't cause him any permanent physical problems, and the next year he was enrolled in school.
Though not the most popular student Gordon was definitely one of the more popular ones. His athletic ability as well as his dogged perseverance at his studies earned him numerous awards and his grades weren't excellent, but very close to it. When he entered his third year of school his mother became pregnant again and his little sister Susie was born right before that years' summer break. As the two got older Gordo doted on his baby sister and played the part of protective big brother to a tee when he wasn't off at away games or spending time after school practicing for his junior league sports teams. As Gordon grew older, his parents started facing marital difficulties and he frequently spent more time with his mother while his father was "off at the office", one factor that contributed to his alienation from his Dad that continues into the present day.
Though the Wassermans managed to stretch the marriage out another three years, when Gordon was twelve and starting middle school his father dropped a bombshell on the family: he was gay, and he was divorcing Emily and moving to Boulder, CO to live with his long-distance boyfriend. The announcement and the breakup of his family was like an apocalypse to Gordon, who threw himself even further into school and sports. The divorce was a brutal, bloody affair and for whatever insane reason the presiding judge awarded full-time custody of Gordon to Jakob and that of Susie to her mother with holiday visitation rights. Even though Emily and her mother and father (who passed on a year later) tried to fight the ruling, their appeals failed and Gordon tearfully went to live with his father and his fathers soon to be life-partner in Boulder.
Adjusting to a new school and a new place to live was really difficult for Gordo and he almost considered quitting sports altogether. Luckily for him he found a few new friends and started to assimilate in his new school, something that helped him keep his interest up. Plus, the more time he spent at school or at sports or with his new friends, the less time he had to stay at home. His father always rode him about not wanting to spend time around he and Terry but with the feelings of guilt that Jakob had, it was hard for the man to say no to anything. It was a fact that "Terry" didn't like, thinking that Jakob was spoiling "Hank" and keeping him from facing the reality of his situation, but there really wasn't anything that Terry could do about it either considering that Gordon did his best to avoid the man he blamed for his parents' breakup like the plague.
Even though he missed the friends he had in Boulder, Gordo was never happier than when he went back home for the holidays and the summer. After being divorced for two, almost three years, his mother had met a man that she could finally trust and give her heart to again, an East African emigre and a successful psychotherapist named Robert N'gale, and after dating him for almost half a year, introduced her son to the man. Gordo took a liking to Dr. N'gale instantly, admiring the man's soft-spoken manner, his knowledge and their shared interest in sports, although N'gale was much more a soccer and cricket fan than anything else. Going home also meant that he got to spend time with his little sister, Susie, something he looked forward to all year round.
Even though they had a distinct age difference and didn't see each other for eight or nine months out of the year, Gordo was more than happy to babysit when Emily was going out on a date, and the year before last, the whole family went out to California and visited Disneyland and Six Flags, as well as the Winchester Mystery House. It was on this family excursion that Dr. N'gale proposed to Emily, something that overjoyed everyone, and when his mother accepted, Gordo wanted worse than ever to move back home with his Mother and soon to be stepdad. He even brought the idea up with a conference call with his mother and he and his father, but Jakob refused and swore that he would have the motion blocked in court and spend whatever legal fees were necessary to make sure it didn't happen. Not wanting Gordon to miss out on the wedding, Robert and Emily went to the justice of the peace and were wed the day after talking to Jakob, and they put in a formal petition to regain custody of Gordon. Ironically, the bloodwork that was necessary to get the marriage certificate also showed that Emily was pregnant with Robert's child.
Dejected, he was sent back to Boulder at the start of his next school year and his powers began manifesting in strange, subtle ways. Having made second string quarterback on the schools junior varsity football team, his performance started to suffer as the ball would inexplicably fly out of his hands whenever it was hiked to him during practice, though when he actually managed to grab it he could run right through guys with fifty pounds over him, shrugging them off as they tried to tackle him. At his fathers house, when their cat Mr. Whiskers jumped onto his lap, the cat shot backwards and landed on Terry, clawing the man all up. Even though it wasn't his fault, Terry threw a total bitch-fit and got Gordo "grounded", although he still got to go to practice and out on the weekends. Ultimately, it didn't matter much, since Gordy just hid out in his locked bedroom whenever he was home anyways; it was the appearance that was necessary to placate his father's lover.
The night that everything really came to a head was Gordo's first high-school start on the team after the first-string QB blew his knee out in an away game. Since he'd been concentrating some he didn't drop the ball nearly as much, and he managed to run two successful QB sneaks for some major yards despite having half a team trying to take him down with no luck. Leading 20 to 12, Gordo knew that if there was a recruiter in the stands that they'd have to take notice, but sadly luck wasn't on his side that night. At least, it sort of wasn't. On a nickel play, the right tackle on the opposing team's D broke through the line and was headed full-bore at Gordo, who was looking everywhere to try and make the pass. Even though he tossed it ahead successfully, he got nailed, and instead of the huge tackle bouncing off of him, Gordo went flying. Literally. He shot backwards over sixty feet so fast that he plowed down two players on his team, slammed into the goalpost and shot upwards, clearing the stadium and landing about two miles away. Even that impact didn't stop him, and he proceded to "bounce" until he'd ended up clear across town, unconscious.
It was almost an hour before search and rescue found him where he'd landed, and still unconscious Gordon was taken to the hospital. He woke up not long after arriving, and the baffled doctors really didn't have any choice but to release him into his father's custody when they couldn't find anything physically wrong with the boy. Though the incident was written off as a bizarre equipment malfunction by the local news, footage as to what had happened with Gordon's name blurred out had already hit YouTube, and he couldn't go anywhere without being stared at or being called Bounce Boy or something else. His father didn't know what to do, and Terrence viewed it all as a terrible embarassment, so in a strange turn of events, Jakob decided to relinquish full custody to Emily and Robert, whom Gordon had taken to calling Dad at that point. Even though it meant leaving the friends he made in Boulder, Gordon jumped at the chance and Robert filed the paperwork to adopt him as he already had Susie.
Since the YouTube videos didn't show his actual face, Gordon thought he was safe from being identified, but one of the viewers who saw the video happened to be fellow sports-nut and Claremont Academy phys ed instructor Allen Archer. Forwarding the video clip to Duncan, Archer managed to convince the Headmaster to track the student down, something that was relatively easy for Duncan to manage. The end result was a very surprised Gordon, now going by Jovovich-N'gale, being offered a full-ride "athletic" scholarship to attend Claremont Academy. After a long talk with his parents, Gordon agreed to go, both to gain a better amount of control over his burgeoning powers and to see if he couldn't put them to some real use off the field.
Since arriving at Claremont, Gordo has participated in a number of missions and made quite a few friends at the school. He dated Alex Honeycutt for a while, but is currently single. Over the course of his junior year, he also befriended the elderly superhero Mr. O'Connor, better known as the original Freedom Eagle. After the destruction of the Freedom League, Mr. O'Connor gave his blessing for Gordo to take up the mantle, and now he's got the added concern of his parents being targets due to his Youtube problem, as he's one of the Guild's current targets and thus, so are they. Now he's stuck as a wanted man by a group of killers, as well as having a legacy to uphold as he goes into his senior year.
