Hey all,
Obviously, if you're playing this game, it's because we love your bios enough to let them in. Now, some people might think that makes us seem a little hoity-toity, but really, we're running this bugger for quality, and the character concepts are like the backbone of that. With that in mind, for new players, or people that already play and are planning on app'ing that important second character. So, let's go step by step through the normal character bio and we'll give a few helpful hints.
Name:
Alias: Any alternate names used
(These are pretty simple, and don't really need much commenting on. If you can't come up with a character name, you need to think a little more first!)
Physical Statistics
Age:
Gender:
(Of either of these, age is probably the toughest one. The range for Claremont is 13-18, so app'ing a 20 year old char [which has happened] is just pointless. We're not having any adults played by players in the game, so it's really not worth even trying to apply one. They'll get tossed.)
Appearance
Height In Inches and feet, please
Weight In Pounds
Hair Color, length, and general style
Eyes Color and number (if more than two)
Notes Please list usual style of dress and general impression gained by others.
(Ideally, we'd like to see the character pictures congruous with the description. It might take a while to find, but Mari is mad talented at doing so, so if there's trouble there, please ask her. Also, if your character undergoes some sort of physical changes with their powers, place a description of what it looks like there too.)
(Also, please, God, don't use a famous celebrity for your picture. The first thing that'll happen is the bio'll be looked at and one of us will think, "Oh, it's Megan Fox/Ryan Reynolds/whoever as a teenage superhero. That's as far as either of us will get through before you change it. Also, no illustrations. There's a whole Internet's worth of pictures out there.)
Contacts:
Relatives: Living Relatives
Allies:
Enemies:
(Unless your character is an orphan, which we already have some of, make sure to list your family here, please? And while it's not necessary to have enemies, there's always someone willing to not like you.)
Personality:
Please describe how others would percieve personality.
(More than anything, let's make sure this is consistent and believable. A character who spent the first eight or nine years locked up in a closet will not be perfectly well adjusted and easily able to make friends or trust people. Think about how your character will be and write something so you can see if it translates into your writing)
Talents:
Talent or AbilityPlease list those talents and abilities above those of the average human.
(Keep these reasonable. A character with elastic-type powers shouldn't be able to lift 200 tons or fire lasers from their eyes. Pick a theme and run with it, and try to give reasons as for how they can actually accomplish these things)
Weaknesses:
Weakness Everyone has weaknesses.
History:
Please describe history from birth.[
(This is the most important part of the bio, so please make sure that it gels with your character's personality. Someone who was beaten mercilessly by their parents and locked away for years wouldn't be happy-go-lucky unless they had some electroshock therapy sessions. Try to make it fit with your overall concept.)
