Featuring: Arachne
Where: Claremont Student Dorm
When: Saturday, Aug 07, 2011 1900 hours

It took Jennifer several attempts to get up the nerve to go and find Tobias’ room. She hadn’t even known if he’d be in. But he had mentioned being a clothes horse. She wasn’t even sure what that was – at least in reference to a person. Clothes horse sounded a lot like he had at least some sort of tailoring skills – of which she had none to speak. His brief demonstration at the Pool had left her fascinated.

She took with her the latest of her torn shirts. She could have easily asked her father for more money and he would have undoubtedly replenished her credit card. But she had been avoiding that for awhile. Her joke in buying Mongo continued to backfire. He had been pampering the dog. And the whole point had been to aggravate him.

When she found his room she knocked timidly on the door at first. She was distinctly uncomfortable on this side of the dorm.

Hearing the sound of someone knocking at the door to his room, Tobias said, "Come on in, it's open." For once, he actually wasn't working on any clothing, and he'd instead settled down with a good book to read. He was wearing casual attire considering how late it was getting, which basically meant a lighter suit than usual, sans jacket. Sitting on one of the chairs in the common portion of the suite, he set it down when he saw Jennifer. "Hey there, how's it going?" It seemed a strange, seeing her standing there with a torn shirt clutched in her hands. "Didn't have a wardrobe malfunction of epic proportions, did you?"

Summary: No Super Bowl performances until you get things under control

Jennifer smiled and stepped in, a little uncomfortable. She had seen him looked at Ari. She had been a little disappointed, but then that didn’t stop her from liking the guy from the word go. And it wasn’t as if there weren’t other guys. “Well, not epic. But it was about clothing. I’ve ripped the sleeves out of a lot of clothes. That’s part of why I have a lot of luggage I am going to get rid of soon. Half of it I’ll just destroy the first time I change. I could use a few repairs. But the two main items I wanted to talk about was a coat for winter and a costume design.”

“My last coat I ripped the sleeves out of. I had to start wearing a poncho. It looked a little silly in New York. But at least that was better than freezing. I’m open to suggestions. I have some basic thoughts for a costume. But it’s not a big rush, I don’t think. I had thought about trying to weave some silk into a vest as a sort of body armor. But the thing of that is I rely more on my agility. Anything that heavy would probably hinder movement. But I was thinking that maybe some of the others could use something like that.”

She paused there, not sure what else to say. She hated the idea of just expecting someone to drop everything and make clothing for her. “Is there anything in particular you need? Sorry, I don’t know how things work here yet.”

Summary: Jennifer explains what she needs.
OOC: She will eventually have suggestions about altering some of her unused items in her luggage for others, like Bonezite who arrived with just a backpack.

Shaking his head, Tobias couldn't help but laugh a little at the last part of what she had to say. "Don't worry about knowing the ropes here. As far as schools go, this is probably the strangest one that has ever existed. The learning curve isn't that steep though." Reaching out for the tape measure that he always kept within arm's reach of him, he shook his head again at the thought of materials. "I can change cloth from one type to another, so I can pretty much make do with any kind of fabric. With regards to a costume, the school's machine takes care of those, and the stuff that comes out of them is like nothing I'd ever experienced before. It's almost magical."

Realizing that he probably seemed a little weird waxing eloquent on the special costume ring fabric, he sucked his left cheek in slightly. "If there is a student that might want something like what you're talking about, the body armor, it would be Autumn Hunter. She's the only student here who isn't meta, and I'm certain that she could make even more use of the silk you create than I can. Most people find her unapproachable, but I think she's nice. A bit sad, to be honest." He knew he could be a bit of a chatterbox when his brain was thinking about clothes, and he tended to jump around a little when the creative juices were getting flowing. "Not that I can't make use of it. I was planning on using what you gave me to do a bit of a themey line, but we can use some of it on what you need."

The measuring tape was twisting around in his hand like a serpent, and he said, "We'll want to get your measurements when you're like you are now and when you're doing the whole more arms thing. I'm thinking if we do clothes with lots of vertical stripes, we could hide the seams and even the openings on extra sleeves. It might have a bit more of a sixties mod That Girl kind of look to it, but it's something that we can work with as we go along. I'm more of a haute coture fan over anything else, so a project like this is sort of right up my alley."

Summary: Tobias talks about clothes, getting used to school, soylent silk (comes from a people) and other things
