Having a nice, long talk with Horus had been an enjoyable diversion, but the real reason that Earth's Master Mage had found himself in the land of the Egyptian deities was a completely different matter altogether. Having sent a leonine messenger running for it's mistress, Adrian was left waiting at a gigantic obelisk of basalt, enjoying the warm breeze and the heat that resonated from the smooth marble that he stood on, a massive bottle made of rough-hewn crystal and stoppered with a huge ruby clutched in his hands. It seemed to take ages for the subject of his summons to arrive, sauntering towards him and instantly recognizable, even from a distance.

As the red-clad goddess reached her destination, she ran a nailed hand through her dark hair, kohl-rimmed cats' eyes staring intently at the much smaller being swathed in robes. Pointing a claw at the bottle that he held in his hands, her tail swished behind her, a hunter's instinct restrained by impeccable tact and millennia of watching over her charges on planes innumerable. "I take it, dear little Magister, that you've brought a gift for me? Obviously word has filtered down since that insufferable little Broken Crow was in your shoes. One would think he'd have realized that birds are one of my favorite types of prey..."

Though his face was deadpan, Eldrich still felt the little twinge of energy surging through his bones that he always did when in a deific presence. "Unfortunately, Sekhem-Maru, this isn't a social call, although as you can see, Snorrg of Jontulheim sends his best." Handing the stoppered bottle upwards to the much larger Goddess, there was a bitter smile on his face as he watched her take it between two claws, flick off the stopper and down the bottle's contents in one single gulp, an expression of sultry enjoyment on her face. "I came to pass on a bit of news. Oth has escaped the planar confines that bound him, and we have reason to suspect he's somewhere on the Prime Material. Your charge might be in danger."

A throaty laugh that sounded only partially genuine came from Sekhmet's lips, the traces of a sneer flitting across her face for just a split second before it disappeared. "Is that all that you came to tell me, then? I thought it was something important. I'll make certain to pass word along to my brother that his bastard child has come a-calling. And while I appreciate the concern, I think you'll find that my charge isn't some shrinking violet. Even before she was filled with my presence, she was a strong-willed one. If he should find her, she will persevere. And to make certain that she does so, I went ahead and, how do you say it, 'stacked the deck'? Legba's horse has been stamping his little hooves around her, although he doesn't know that he's being ridden yet." Reaching a finger and thumb down towards Eldrich and pinching his cheek with an impossible lightness between two claws, she laughed again, this time more genuine. "But it is still good to know you care. Run along, now, Adrian. I hear that you've got to prepare for a female successor, yes? So little time, so much to do..."
