With the team mounted on the jetbikes and flying north into the thickening storm, Duncan's voice sounded over their communicators and the on-board computers, although the howling winds obscured the transmission a little bit. "Satellite weather maps are indicating a spike in activity around Lantern Hill... would advise checking there before heading into town, over."

Within about a quarter-mile of Lantern Hill, the students were faced with a serious problem: the conditions were almost white-out at this point, with thick and furious wind gusts threatening to knock the students off course altogether. If they were to press any further into the storm, the jetbikes wouldn't be able to stay flying. Drifts at the base of the hill itself were at least three feet in depth, and getting larger by the minute. Another communique came in over the howling winds, this one from a somewhat unfamiliar voice to most of the students. "Uh, this thing up and running? Sonic here. I'm checkin' out West End. Megastar's with me, tyin' up some looters we caught trying to break into Circuit Casa. You guys doin' alright, over?".

Summary: The students arrive at what appears to be the heaviest point of the storm and get a couple of radio contacts, but they're faced with a decision and a potentially long walk.

Tara's hair, even though tied back, whipped wildly about in the powerful wind as the chilling white sleet bombarded her goggles. Unlike her usual costume ensemble, Tara had decided to keep her toque on this time. She yelled over the turbulent roar of the storm. "So... this is kinda crazy," she said, stating the obvious. "I mean this isn't even good boarding weather!" She swept aside a band of hair that was fluttering across her face.

"Hey! We should like probably land for a bit before our bikes take a nosedive into the nearest snow banks," Tara suggested from her jetbike. "Mystic, can your dragon can handle this kind of weather if we need him?"

As the weather worsened, Tara had been thinking of what each of the students could do to help the group navigate the storm. Most of the squad were members of the team that went over to Germany, so she was familiar with them, but she really didn't know much about either Crash or Vassal. The fiery red-head apparently had powers to match. "Or maybe Vass, you can just melt a path for us? ... That'd be a crap load of water though." She shrugged, not entirely sure how serious she was about her own suggestion.

Sonic's voice crackled through the radio. "Heya," Tara responded, still forcing her words out loud enough to stand out above the wind. "We heard there might be something goin' down with the weather around Latern Hill. The snow's being a real bitch though... our jetbikes aren't getting much further."

Tara looked back at the others and shrugged again, frowning and shielding herself from the blow snow.

Summary: Tara has questions for Mystic and Vassal, and responds to Sonic's radio transmission.

Juliet was glad she'd been able to at least put on warm underclothes. She didn't look much like the high priestess of an Egyptian Goddess, all bundled up from the cold and all. But at least she was warm. She had opted out of actually driving one of the bikes. She didn't know how to drive at all, let alone something like this. Riding with the techie seemed like a good idea. But while Terrabyte was contemplating plans, Juliet was worried about Hatch, and wondering what kind of trouble they'd get into.

Juliet nodded at the question, then realized Tara wouldn't see her. "I could be doin that, but I have to be gettin mad," Juliet lilted in her thick Irish Brogue. "The question isn't whether me fire be strong enough, but more whether or not I'll be attacking ye all as well."

The voice of other heroes sounded in her ear and Juliet let out a yelp of surprise. After Tara answered she asked, "Oi, isn't Megastar the boy er... what's her name? Poltergeist be seein?"

It was cold out. But Alex had been in colder places before. She was glad for her helmet, it blocked the cold wind and kept the snow from her eyes. She struggled to keep her bike from moving sideways in the wind. "We definitely need to set down," she said over her own communicator, "It's getting too dangerous. We'll be 'bout useless if we get hurt before we even face anythin'."

"Mystic, yer dragon was able to carry 3 o us before, do ya think the knight and angel could help with the rest? Ya seem to have a bit more control over them then we have over the bikes. Vassal, if yer powers'll make ya dangerous to us, let's hold off on them."

She pointed to a spot on the ground, "Let's put down there." If the others agreed she was willing to set down.

Having insulated his own suit like almost everyone else had when they had left the school Gordo was feeling okay for the time being. Knowing that they would crash if they kept flying into the storm further, he was happy when they started stopping the bikes and putting down. Using his ring to keep in touch with the others, he said "If somebody can hit me really hard, I can probably clear a pretty big path without having any water get created from the snow. I might even be able to get up to the top of the hill if I get hit hard enough. Just hopefully not too hard, or I might end up a mile or two out of range of where I want to be. Your call, Alloy. I think you're the boss on this one"

Eniko could fly through the storm on dragon back but chose instead to ride behind Luke. Not only did it make her feel more secure and safe but she also wasn't wasting energy she may need. The sunlight that managed to move through the clouds wasn't very strong and might not help her much when she needed it. She listened to the questions sent her way and touched Traveller's back. As each was answered she would nod in response. She hoped he'd be able to speak for her.

Alex was correct in thinking her creations could transport all of them. The dragon could easily handle all the girls and the giant horse could carry the boys. Traveller was heavy but she was certain the horse could do it. If they landed and it was decided to be the best course of action she'd bring both into being.

The wind in his face was cut down a lot by the bandana he wore and Luke was glad that theyd thickened up their uniforms before moving out because his definitely wasnt made for weather this cold. Putting the bike down like Tara and Alex had suggested he climbed off with a smooth motion and looked back at En, holding a hand out to help her off of the vehicle. "Dont need a ride in this" he grunted "save yourselves room and save Mystic the energy so she just has to cart you ladies with the dragon. Reckon I can hit this bloke here like he needs it to get up there and just jump behind him until we get to whats causing this bleedin mess and sort it out"

Once Crash was off of his bike and ready to head up Luke put his hand on Ens shoulder and said "You just take it calm up there and wait a few secs for me. Ill be up in just a tic and if anything gets scary go into hiding. Ill find you by your footprints if I need" Kissing her quickly on the forehead he moved behind Crash and kicked the boy in his back as hard as he possibly could.

When Traveller kicked Crash in the back, the boy's powers kicked in and almost sent Luke's leg flying backwards before Gordon was able to channel his energies and fly forwards, skipping across the ground and pushing a massive mound of snow up in front of him as the blast energies subsided. By the time he stopped, Crash had almost reached the top of Lantern Hill, St. Stephens' Church looming tall over him and the noise of breaking glass sounding above him as he cleared his head.

With Luke bounding through the drifting snow at a quick rate, Mystic and the rest of the girls were winging high overhead on Eniko's energy construct dragon. With Crash the only member truly on the ground, the rest of the team could see what he missed: someone was attacking St. Stephen's, or more appropriately, some things. A number of animate snowmen were busy ripping some of the stone from the building's front and shattering windows, all while a young man with start white hair was seemingly skating across solid snow and directing a massive fist made of ice as it slammed into the building over and over again. With the wind whipping fresh gusts of snow and hampering visibility, as well as his apparent glee in his actions, it appeared that he hadn't noticed them... yet.

Alex was appalled at the destruction. She had spent her life traveling, staring up in awe at buildings such as this from a young age. Her eyes locked onto the person destroying this ancient landmark made her jaw clench. She didn't really want to be the leader here but everyone seemed to be wanting it.

"Mystic, sic your angel on Frosty. Then set us down, and attack with your dragon. We'll see how he likes a bit of heat. Vassal, ya'll can't make the fire yet. Let's keep ya as backup. If shit hist the fan we'll have ta hope ya can save us. Terrabyte, ya'll need to be takin charge if Ah have to go metal. No voice. Ya think ya can handle it?" Her question was an honest one. "Traveler... help Mystic out." It would be foolish of her to expect anything else but the duo were certainly a great pair attack wise. Crash, let's get to work takin out the snowmen. If anyone else has ideas, let's hear it fast, Ah don't want him seein us before we get the jump on him." If no one else came up with anything she'd prepare to start firing at the closest snowman as soon as she hit the ground.

There was some sweat that was starting to freeze up in Gordos exposed hair and he ran a hand through real quick to keep it from getting icy and giving him pneumonia. "On it" he said when Alex suggested that he should fight against the snowmen instead of going after crazy church wrecker guy. He didnt even know why the guy was trying to wreck a church in the first place. Knock over a bank or something, do something thats going to get you some money or something. Bad enough this guy was a bad super but apparently he was also a total idiot

Time to pick up the pace. Starting off in a little bit of a jog he headed to one of the snowmen at full tilt and hoped that if they hit them he wouldnt go for a quick fly. For a second he realized that he was one of the most passive aggressive superheroes who must have put on the tights but at least he was doing something. Right?

Eniko was bolstered by Traveller's presence and care. She followed Alex's orders silently her dragon taking wing and cutting through the sky. The wind cut through her but she ignored it. She spotted the frost man and she pursed her lips. She nodded at Alex's next command. On the other side of the destructive meta the angel appeared looking severely angry. Fitting for a creature supposedly of God watching a church being destroyed. The angel drew back on the golden bow and shot a volley of fiery arrows toward the man.

Meanwhile, Eniko's dragon twisted in the sky and dove close to the ground. It landed on the least snowy bit of ground and Eniko tried to keep it from melting through the snow as she helped the other girls off. Once that was finished her dragon took to the air again and twisted once more in the air. This time it headed to pass the man and belch out fire on it.

This situation definitely wasnt one that Luke wanted to stay embroiled in for long and he started taking steps to fix the situation. Kneeling for a second and pulling the knife that he kept in his boot out of its sheat he fixed to throw it at the man, aiming low so he could hit him in the legs. It wouldnt be pleasant but attacking a church was a pretty low thing for a bloke to do in the first place. And he wasnt going to let En stay in danger any longer than she had to either.

The arrival of a gigantic energy dragon certainly caught the icy man's attention, and his ice-coated blond dreadlocks whipped about with some clacking noises as Traveller's knife spun, making a slight whistle as it hurtled through the air and struck the man in his left shin and sank through his icy coating and into the muscle and bone beneath. There was a high-pitched groan of pain as the meta tripped and fell to the ground, narrowly missing most of the volley of energy arrows that Mystic's angel shot at him but getting grazed across the back with the lowest shot in the bunch. Another scream and he seemed to melt away into the snow, disappearing as Mystic's dragon raked the ground with energy flames and let up a large cloud of steam.

Seemingly oblivious to their master's peril, the animate snowmen started charging in an odd, hopping fashion towards the students. One leaned back and snapped a snowy arm forwards to strike Crash, but the boy's kinetic field sprang into life and caused the construct's arm to ripple, then disperse back into normal snow as it's blow was directed back into it's limb. A shot from Alloy blasted the carrot nose and button eyes right off of the face of another one and caused it to wobble around blindly, it's frosty arms waving helplessly. Maintaining her distance from the fray because A) she'd been asked to lead if Alloy had to go metal and B) because her fighting skills were somewhere between newborn kitten and eight year old boy, Terabyte was a little distracted by the strange EM signal she was picking up from the roof of the church. It definitely wasn't a satellite dish or anything of the like, but she couldn't understand what exactly it was that it DID do, just that it was running and it was programmed in Chinese. She could, however, shout out a warning to Vassal as another snowman sprung up to life from behind her and swung it's snowy fist, just barely clipping the side of her jaw as she turned to evade it.

For her part, Mystic wasn't quite so lucky; although she'd harried and injured the man behind this madness, a massive arm made of snow erupted from the ground, snatching her right off of the top of her dragon and hurling her like a ragdoll, far enough away that her friends were left without her as she plummeted to the frozen ground behind a mausoleum in the cemetary that stood some distance away from the church, a bone-snapping sound all she could register before the world went black around her, followed by the words, "What in tarnation?"

Springing up from the snowy ground a few hundred feet away from where he'd disappeared, Dub Zero, Masta Blasta of the Chillest Cold, was livid, freezing the knife sticking out of his leg and snapping it off where the blade was embedded in him. Still, he couldn't help being a little smarmy, especially after he'd already taken out one of their number. With a tinge of fake Rasta to his accent, he said, "You may as well all just stop and give de money to me now den, 'cause I'm gonna tear dis Babylon down around your little heads. I was just been havin' fun and you come 'ere with your little knives and your burnin' angels. Time to feel Jah's icy wrath in y'souls! You call yourselves 'eroes? I call ya nutting, and wit' bad fashion sense too now." Pointing a finger almost languidly despite the look of pain on his face, he sent a ray of cold energy towards Luke who ducked at the last possible moment and only ended up with his right hand being chilled to the bone by a graze.

For what seemed like a long time, Eniko floated in darkness, a distant thrum of pain in the back of her consciousness as she seemed to fall into an endless void. Then there was a flash of heat, a blur of greenish light in front of her vision, and a deep breath as the clouded January skies of Freedom appeared above her. Also above her was a man, partially translucent and tinged with green, carrying an old bullseye-style lantern and wearing dungarees, a vest and shirt, a duster and a battered ten gallon hat. Pushing the hat back with a finger and revealing a weathered, ancient-looking face with black holes where his eyes should be, the man spoke in a dolorous timbre, his words coming out in her native tongue though they didn't seem to synch with his mouth. As she realized she was laying on a funerary plinth, she heard him. <"Time to get up, little girl. Normally a graveyard doesn't worry about another body, but there's more things riding on you than you can know.">

Summary: The students take the fight against the ridiculous but violent villain and almost lose a member of the team. Plus: Mystic makes a friend! Kind of.

Juliet's hand snapped up to her face where she'd been hit. She scrambled backwards. She could understand that. You didn't just show up to a brawl and expect to go out unscathed. But then she watched Mystic fall and heard that noise... a silky purr moved through her mind. That wasn't very nice was the whisper. Juliet spoke out loud, "No... no it weren't." Wasn't very... just the whisper continued. Juliet was quiet a moment then said, "No... not at all."

That was all the room that was needed. Heat grew inside her and around her. Fire started in her hands, melting up her arms in red flames, starting to circle around her. They melted onto her body and Juliet focused her eyes on Dub Zero explosions of her unique fire blowing at his feet she shouted, Ancient Egyptian fell from her lips in an absent minded eulogy to Sekhmet, which she promptly ended with "Why don't ye go feck yerself, Dub Zero, since no woman or man's likely to want to be touchin ye!" The fire around her sprang up higher and roared towards him in what almost could be called an arrow of fire. Things that weren't immune to flame would want to stay off that path.

All he knew was that he wanted blood and he wanted to go find En. Everyone else on the team could go pound sand in their fannies for the damns that he gave. A scream built up in his throat as his whole body started to shake all over and his eyes got a little glassy. With a last fit of trembling he shot his wave of vibration energy towards the man and didnt even stick around to see what happened, instead turning to jump away and follow the path where he had seen En go flying

Too busy squaring off against Frosty's killer cousin Gordo didn't manage to catch the fact that Mystic took an unwilling trip to the grave yard where crazy green people apparently lived. Clapping his hands together and moving from the one snowman and towards another one, he said "Alright everyone, we've got this! These snowmen are pushovers! If you guys want I'll try and keep them distracted and you can all take care of Island Popsicle back there!" Deciding that he may as well go all out, Gordo ran at full tilt towards the next killer snowman and tucked his head down a little, hoping a little bit of the old tackle action would be enough to handle it.

Eniko hit the ground and darkness. It was a familiar one. An ache a sense of loss. Had she done something wrong again? Did she forget to be quiet enough? She would have to try harder. If she woke up. The ache was growing and she felt like she was drifting. Maybe it wouldn't matter if she woke up or was quiet. Green light surged through her and she gasped awake. She stared up at the man speaking to her and blinked her odd eyes. "Who are you?" she asked. She struggled to sit up. "I... what did you do to me?"

She still felt as if she was drifting a bit and she glanced over at the action then back at the green man.

Alex gasped as Eniko was thrown from her dragon. This guy was fast and deadly. She felt a rage of her own building. Eniko would never have attempted to kill him. "Terrabyte, stay out of the way of Vassal." Alex backed up not knowing exactly how powerful Vassal may be.

"Traveller!" she barked into her ring "Let us know Mystic's status. If she's in a bad way take her to the school or hospital. Crash, get them all." She pulled on the metal of a wrought iron fence and she shot a volley at this Dub Zero aiming to hit him hard enough he'd fly off his feet, possibly breaking ribs. There wasn't enough time for Dub Zero to 'jump' back into the snow before the students' enraged attacks started to rain down on him. The first to hit was Luke's vibratory blast, which struck dead-on and lifted the cold manipulator off of his feet and backwards about a dozen feet. Spidery radial cracks from the impact appeared on Dub's ice-coated body, only to be followed up by the crunching impact of a large, wrought iron shot that Alloy had fired. The metal sphere struck him in his hip, sending chips of ice mixed with blood into the air and he fell sideways, yowling in pain from the impact.

Kicking up snow as he ran towards the killer snowman he'd targeted, Crash launched himself shoulder-first just as the snowman pivoted on it's bottom sphere and swung a heavy limb at the boy's face. The blow connected, but instead of stopping him, it caused Crash to shoot upwards, disappearing from sight momentarily before he started falling from the sky and landed atop the snowman, the kinetic impact causing him to bounce several more times and flatten the snowman as his energies wound down. More than intrigued by the signal she was receiving at this point, Tara almost didn't notice one of the snowmen sneaking up on her, but at the last second, she hit it with an EM blast that, surprisingly, had quite an effect on it, sending it fleeing away in a strange hopping gait as it's arms waved wildly in the air.

In the cemetary, the green-litten figure tilted his hat up a little and revealed more of his lined, weather-bitten face to Eniko. In the strange asynchronous voice that sounded like it was speaking perfect Hungarian, he said <"The name's Lantern Jack, and what I did was try and patch you up."> Gesturing to the lantern he carried, he shook his head. <"You were on death's door from the fall you took, so I made sure your body got patched up. Something weird happened, though... the lamp here reacted to ya funny. Not sure why."> Catching sight of a figure jumping hundreds of feet at a clip coming closer to the cemetary, he shook his head. <"I realize you might be a touch scared, but you're welcome to come visit me here anytime. I'd help you and your little friends over at the church, but it's hallowed ground... can't step foot on it. Part of the agreement what keeps me here..."> As Luke arrived on scene, he'd no doubt be confused as he saw Eniko apparently talking to... nobody!

Back in front of the church, Vassal's supernatural flames were starting to melt the accumulated snow on the ground, and the two remaining snowmen that hadn't been destroyed fled from her like she was the plague. An already rattled Dub Zero, with some flash burns from where he had just barely managed to roll free of her mystic flame explosions, recognized the new threat and raised his hands, pouring a stream of frosty energy flying towards her even as her flaming arrow bolt struck him in the chest and caused him to shriek out loud. The icy coating on his body sizzled and emitted a large cloud of steam as the icy blast hit Vassal and knocked her off of her feet, causing the flames around her to sputter briefly before they leapt from her skin again, leaving only some impact bruising on the girl's chest. Falling down into a nearby patch of snow, Dub Zero disappeared and the snowmen started to act addled, wandering around semi-aimlessly as he emerged from another snowbank several hundred feet away and started to run down Lantern Hill in a panic, steam vapor still trailing from his features and blood staining the ground where he'd run.

"Oh, no you dont you loser!" Gordo said as he saw the Dub Zero guy getting away. Ignoring for the moment how terrible of a name that was for a supervillain or a super anything for that matter, Crash had something in mind that might just be enough to help him stop the bad guy. "I'll try and slow him down you guys." he said on his ring radio thing. "Lets finish up with those snowmen and see if we cant put back what he did to the church?" Making sure to watch out so he didn't accidentally collide with any of the semi tardo snowmen that were just sort of rambling around at that point, he ran in a bee line towards the closest wall of the actual church itself. Once he got close enough that he was about to actually hit he would turn his body to the side so he was pointed in a more or less straight line towards teh fleeing snow manipulator. It was one thing to go attacking someone like Alex or Luke who could handle themselves, but the thought of someone attacking Eniko just pissed him off a bit. She was like a puppy who accidentally peed on the rug or something always looking bashful and afraid, but she seemed nice. And this guy had tried to kill her!

A couple more jumps were all it took for Luke to make it to the site where En had fallen and he was overjoyed to see that she was standing upright and seemed no worse for her wear. Clearing the space between them with another hop Luke took a second to wipe away some of the sweat that was building up on him so he didnt start to catch frostbite or something bad like that and his muscles quivered a little bit when he landed. He definitely didnt like cemetaries or anything like that. It was kind of creepy to be in a place that was so quiet and to be walking on top of dead people. Looking around to make sure that nobody could overhear him he said "En are you alright? We thought something right terribled happened to you from what that tosser did. Eniko looked for Lantern Jack her eyes wide. She looked over at Luke as he came closer and she hugged him suddenly. Her voice caught in her throat but she said softly "D-d-d-died... b-b-b-b-but he..." she shook her head hearing more shouts from her teammates. She turned and spotted Dub Zero running. Her eyes narrowed and raw anger surged through her.

She looked at the man and wanted him to hurt like she had hurt. She glared at him and wanted her dragon to stop him. But the dragon alone couldn't... she felt a shift inside her and saw a brief bit of green before dragons appeared. Four of them. Smaller in size than her usual creations they were still about the size of a large car and bright red in anger. The one in front of him lunged to clamp teeth on his legs and hold him in place while the other three let loose bouts of fire.

Mystic didn't understand where the others had come from or what was going on but she didn't particularly care. She was tired of being hurt by people that didn't even care. At least this once someone was going to pay.

"NO!" Vassal shouted in anger. She looked after the man and threw both hands forward fire shot from both of them after him. Around her flames spread rapidly and dripped off her arms and from her hair and body like liquid.

All of her rage was sent into that flame. She didn't want him to just be hurt, she wanted him to PAY. She wanted him to suffer 100 times the agony he might have caused anyone before. And then... she wanted him dead.

Silver eyes blinked. She didn't want him dead. Sekhmet wanted him dead. It was a familiar battle as she tried to regain control of her body and powers. Ironically the more she struggled the more the flames around her grew encasing her in eerie red fire.

Everything was turning FUBAR. Alex hissed in her breath. "Traveller, How's Mystic," she said into her ring. She watched the man running, and hoped that Crash would take him down. Dragons appeared. Several. And Vassal was becoming a super nova of heat and aggression. Alex started stepping further away from the Irish girl. If needed she'd drag Terrabyte along with her. "Crash, watch out," she called. Last thing they needed was him being set on fire and eaten by a dragon.

She turned and fired off shots at the bodies of two of the snowmen, aiming with as large of a bullet as she could as hard as she could. She them to explode so she could concentrate on what was at hand. She spoke into her ring again, "Traveller, please tell me Mystic's okay, and that she can get Vassal under control. Ah know she's immune to some things, is fire one?"

Harried now to the point of terror, Dub Zero's appreciation for his employer was busily taking a trip right down the drain. Stopping as the quartet of dragons reached him, he tried in vain to leap out of the way of the energy flame blasts that came from their mouths, but instead he got caught between two lines of searing power, the icy coat on his body all but melted off at this point and angry weals and burns decorating his arms and other exposed portions of his body as one of the dragons clamped onto his leg. "I give!" he shrieked as he dropped to one knee on the ground, only to have Crash collide with him at high speed and send him sprawling further down the hill. Perhaps it was fortunate for him, considering the collision knocked both he and Gordo out of the way of Vassal's flaming blasts and out of teh dragon's mouth, but as he landed hard on some packed ice, flecks of blood flew from his mouth and the faux Rasta snow manipulator seemed close to passing out.

The first projectile that Alex launched ripped right through the addled snow-being that she'd shot it at, but even as she was getting ready to fire on a second, it crumbled into a large pile of spherically packed snow again. Safe from harm, at least for the moment, and more attenuated to the cold than most of her other classmates, Terabyte turned her full attention to the weird signal that she was getting from the roof of the church. The EM signature that she was picking up from it started to spike higher, eerily synchronous with the appearance of a larger spate of flurries overhead, and she spoke into her ring. "Guys, I need someone to get me up on the roof. There's something I want to check out, it might be really important."

On the ground, Dub Zero lifted his hand weakly, clawing at the air in front of him. He didn't appear near death or too seriously injured, but he'd definitely be feeling the effects of his injuries for some time to come and was likely in need of some medical assistance. "The money..." he murmurred, "all I wanted was my cut. Did they get the ten million dollars yet? If they did, he said that... he'd turn 'em..." was what came out of his mouth before his speech got a little incoherent.

Summary: Dub Zero goes down hard, lets slip a little information, and Terabyte asks for some help investigating an unusual signal.

Shaking his head as he slipped an arm around En Luke held his other hand up to his mouth when he heard what Alex had to say. "Shes right as rain but I dont know" was his reply "reckon I aint never tried to set her on fire before. I ken that well figure it out before long if nothing else. Coming back with her now but I wont just twiddle around and see if shes flame proof or not. Might just roll up a whole big ball of snow and such and toss it in her kisser yeah?" Knowing that all it would take was a couple of jumps to get her over to the rest of the team mates Traveller kept on his guard for any more crazy snow people or anything of the sort. Now that he had En back and safe he wasnt going to take any more chances. Then he saw the other students pretty much destroy the guy theyd fought against and a little smile came up on his face. The son of a bitch deserved it for what he tried to do to En.

"Thanks Trav," Alex said. "Why don't ya jump Terrabyte up to the roof, if Mystic's fine we can see what she thinks." She looked over the growing ring of flames around Juliet and said, "We might not be wantin ta get her more mad, so let's see if we can't come up with somethin other than hittin her with a giant snowball." She didn't know what extremes Juliet's power could reach and frankly she didn't want to know.

She looked down at Crash and said, "Crash, see if ya can't get any info out of him, and keep him out of Vassal's reach. At this point we should be callin in the authorites to be dealin with him, unless someone else has a better plan."

Gordo felt a little dizzy when he finally came to another stop and he looked over at the guy who had been trying to cause a whole lot of trouble and shook his head. The guy looked pathetic and even though the ass kicking was deserved, Crash knew better than to let Vassal keep coming considering the fire that she was spreading all across the place. Alloy seemed to have everything covered or at least know how to, though, so he decided against trying to get in the crazy Irish girls way. "Didnt bring my cellphone with me, but maybe there's a phone in the church or something that we could call the cops on. Or I guess we could call up the people who went to the police headquarters and let them know we're bringing someone along." Stopping in front of Dumb Zero he knelt down and grabbed the guy by his dreadlocks. "No offense man, but youre really stupid. Dont ever mess with the big guys chick or the girl who never did anything to anyone. Its a surefire way to get beat up. Now why don't you talk and let us know why you were doing this?"

She was trembling from head to toe, the fires blazing higher and higher as she struggled for control over what should rightfully be hers. She spoke quickly and under her breath. "I am Juliet Finch. I am in control of me body. The fire is mine. I won't be makin anyone die today. Justice has been served. My body is mine. My fire is mine. Mine. Mine!" The last was almost a shout an explosion burst around her.

She was now fire free though any of the fires in existence may or may not stop. It depended on how the fire would act naturally. She ran her hand through her hair looking with worry. "G... Crash? Did I kill him?" She was a bit tired from everything and just wanted to go back. Fear was lacing through her. She wanted to kill that guy. She wanted to kill him and anyone in the way, friend for foe. That thought made her feel as if she were going to cry. Her throat ached dryly with a need for alcohol and she watched the lines of Luke as he moved, along with Gordo with an emotion near to hunger. She pushed it all aside and tried to think of a way she could be useful.

Shaking his head when Juliet looked pretty worried about possibly having killed the guy who they had just thoroughly skullrocked with some serious aggression. "No hes still kind of alive from what I can tell. A little bit more and he probably would have needed immediate hospitalization but for right now he just seems to be bleeding a little bit. And as soon as he snaps back into it a little bit. Or passes out from the blood loss. And then we'll take him over to wherever Grief is and have him work the magic magic on him. Youre good. When: Early Morning

The formerly formidable meta that now had scorch marks and several painful injuries all over his rather scrawny body was slipping in and out of consciousness, clearly not in much of a state to answer an interrogation. One hand lifted meekly towards the roof as Crash was looming over him and he coughed, his other hand moving to a burn on his chest as he groaned. "Generators..." he panted, "it's how the snow got made all over the city... where's the money? Wanted... my cut... Freebooter said that it was a cool million... lied...". Finished his semi-coherent rambling, the meta's head dropped back down to the ground and his eyes closed. His breathing, although a little ragged from all of the damage his throat had sustained from breathing in superheated air from Vassal's attacks, seemed to indicate that he was unconscious, and he twitched a little bit as he lay on the snow.

With the action on ground having dissipated, Terabyte once again turned her attention to the strange EM signal that was up on the roof, and at Alex's urging, Luke gave her a jump up to the top of it and landed on a relatively flat portion, away from the gambreled and sloped sections. Smack in the middle was a small, hexagonal metal box that seemed to radiate intense cold, projecting some sort of invisible energy emission up into the sky. The closer she tried to get to it, the more numbing the cold got; even with the protective upgrade she'd given to her costume, it was just too cold to get within five feet of or so. The programming of the machine was in Cantonese, so she couldn't even really get a bead on just where to 'tweak' it. Using her ring, she said, "Guys, little bit of a problem here. I can't get close enough to this thing, it's like a little generator box, to take a crack at it." Looking up at the huge Australian boy that was making the tiles on the roof crunch a little, she said, "Got any ideas?"

Not really the detective type, Gordo could still put two and two together and usually make four when it counted. Following Dub Zeros hand when he pointed up at the roof and then listening to Terabytes message, he decided to relay the information along. Deciding it would probably be better to leave Dub where he was for a second he sent a message out to the other teams. "Hey, its Crash. Theres some machine here that is doing some crazy stuff. If you guys see a machine thats really cold or something, I don't know. Try and shut it off maybe? Dont know what'll happen if you wreck it yet. It's really cold though. Lates, over." Bending down once he sent the message, he started dragging Dub Zero behind the arms for a little bit, then shook his head. "Does somebody else want to carry this dweeb? Otherwise he's probably going to get a little more roughed up going down the hill. Maybe hell just slide down like a sled though"

Eniko looked at the man with worry. She hoped he wasn't too injured. She hesitated between going to check on him and what was on the roof. Finally she gave in to her hearts command and a small dragon appeared near her. She slipped onto it's back and got to the rooftop. Standing on the edge of it she looked at the little box and chewed her lip. She held out a hand to hold Luke back. She didn't want him to get hurt. She looked at the box a little more then tried to will something into existence.

A small impish looking creature appeared and moved around the machine while Eniko watched. It looked at the machine then rapidly began attacking it. Hitting and gnawing on the box it made a screaming squealing noise of anger and attacked with a single-mindedness that frighted the girl a bit. How was she creating this and controlling it? Why did it feel so real? She bit through her lip and tasted blood.

Juliet felt immensely guilty. She could have killed him. She had wanted to. She moved to Crash's side and looked at Dub Zero. "I'm sorry," she whispered. Then moved to help Crash carry him up the hill. "What were ye bein paid to do?" she asked in a slightly stronger tone. "Freebooter?" She looked the guy over for injuries. She might have to get one of the medical kits from the bike for him. At the least they needed some cops or something. She'd never really put thought into what happened to criminals after they were caught. She would try and put some bactine on his wounds or something. "Do you know what the box does?" she asked him as she checked him over.

Tara scrunched her face, irritated and annoyed by the mysterious box exuding the excruciating chilling aura. Her eyes slipped back at Luke momentarily, now joined by Eni, before looking away from the pair. Her frustrations with the unknown device seemed to be represented well enough by the gnashing of Eni's creature, one that Tara had never seen before that day. She hated being so close to an answer, only to be denied. It was a language multiple people at the school could understand, but it was a message only Tara could perceive at the moment.

She yelled down to Juliet and Gord, giving herself a break from the strange box. "Hey! So what's the deal with our beat up friend? I could give the police a call, but... I mean it wasn't exactly easy for us to get out here." Tara shrugged. Their job wasn't done as long as the box was still active, but they needed to do something with Dub Zero as well.

Alex was glad to see things falling into place. Mysteries were being solved, villains apprehended, and of course they were all alive and apparently okay. She trotted over to where Vassal and Crash were, standing back while they questioned the guy. She was still trying to decide whether or not they should call some cops. Finally she went for the safe route and said, "Why don't we have Mystic grab the guy with one of her dragons. We can drop him off at the police station, see if the people there need help." The way she figured leaving him behind would be a very bad idea. If they just tied him up and he recovered he might be able to disappear through the snow before the cops got to him. She looked up towards the rooftop. "Hey, ya'll all right up there?" She asked feeling a bit uneasy still. It didn't help that the whole graveyard thing was creepy and she felt like someone was watching them from it.

Headmaster - February 17, 2009 10:57 PM (GMT)
Featuring: Dub Zero and the Students
Where: Outside of the church
When: Early Morning

The impish little creature that Eniko had created seemed to slow a little as it entered the aura of cold being exuded by the machine on the rooftop, but other than it's reduced speed, the cold didn't seem to have any deleterious effects on it. It's scrabbling claws and gnashing teeth seemed to tear right through the metallic casing of the machine, leaving slag in the places where it had been bitten and causing sparks to leap off of the machine. A small explosion, barely enough to damage the tiling on the church's roof, sounded, knocking the little creature off and over the side of the church and falling to the snow below as Luke, Eniko and Tara were pelted by small pieces of icy-cold debris but not hurt in the process. There was a powerful scent of ozone in the air, and the air temperature seemed to fluctuate as the wind in the area died down perceptibly.

The loss of power to the device was most noticable to Terabyte, as she percieved the shut-off of the EM signature much the same as if someone had simply shut the tap on a sink. The clouds overhead began to part almost forcibly, allowing the rays of the otherwise obscured sun to come shining down within about a mile's radius of the area where the generator had been previously. There was another little groan from Dub Zero as he lay on the ground, and he shielded his eyes from the sunlight that was peering through, obviously still in poor shape. Down the hill, the students could see what appeared to be a newsvan slipping as it attempted to make it up to the drive that led to the church, the logo of Channel 3 "Action News" on it's side, and the passenger door slid open, with an athletic young Asian woman wearing heavily bundled clothing and yelling at a man in the back of the van. As she shook her head, she turned and sprinted up the hill, followed closely by a heavy-set man who was struggling to get a camera pack over his shoulder and keep from slipping on the snow at the same time.

Summary: The destruction of the generator alters the weather pattern in the area and makes it possible for the students to pilot the jetbikes much easier. Then the news shows up!

Feeling bad about just how much they had beat Dub Zero down Crash turned and listened to the explosion as Enikos little monster thing destroyed it. He was glad there wasn't some kind of massive explosion or anything, considering the whole point of their fight was to stop a bunch of damage from being done to the church in the first place. Remembering what had been said about first aid kits on the bikes, he started heading down the hill towards them when he saw the van pulling up. "Dont look now guy and gals" he said to his ring in a slightly annoyed way, "I think someone wants to get an interview. What I'm thinking is that we should get out of here before we're getting microphones shoved up into our faces and drop Dub off with the cops. Maybe one or two of us should play PR person or people while the rest leave? I dont know. Its not like a little air time could hurt us, right, long as nobody goes blabbing secret identities."

Tara adjusted her goggles and swept a few loose strands of hair back into place as the weather settled, waiting for Luke to take them off the roof. The devious little smirk on her face betrayed the thought process churning in her mind. "Hey, it's all good boys and girls. You know the trouble with remote cameras? They suck at transmitting back to the news van when there's a lot of static interference. I mean, don't you hate it when the pic's all screwed up and you just can't make out who's on the screen?"

The piping running across Tara's bodysuit began to pulse softly as she began emitting a mild jamming signal. "So like I gotta admit I wouldn't mind a bit of credit for once, but that ought to mess their camera up for a bit."

"Terabyte here," Tara said, now speaking into her comm device, broadcasting to the other teams. "I think we got things under control over here at Lantern Hill, and we got the media headin' our way. How's everyone else doing out there?"

Tara wasn't necessarily expecting an answer, but if one of the teams needed some assistance then it was important for them to know they could call for back up.
