Welcome to the city of Akago -- a city where law is by the paw, and animals dominate. This city of anthroids, situated underground beneath the grand metropolis Tokyo, is a refuge for anthros prosecuted in the world of men. Here the rules are set by the anthros, commanded by the anthros, lived by the anthros, and we are as much as a people and community as any.

Feel free to explore around a bit -- here are settlements of the purest examples of worldly cultures, in six boroughs based on six major categories of society. Perhaps, maybe, you'll even find yourself a home here -- if you are indeed one of us.

To become a citizen of Akago is no trouble at all -- simply educate yourself in our ways, and a few simple rules. Abide by these, you become one of us. If you exemplify a particular devotion to our community, you might even be promoted to the governing class, a member of the most elite of anthros.

If, however, you do not, there is always the option of being cast out forever.

So, enjoy yourself in our eternal night life -- there are many things to do that will satiate anyone. And always remember: no fleshies allowed.

Since some aren't used to RPing one way, and others the other way, I've decided to let it go easy and RP in both until we find one we're comfortable with. Ways are -

Dialogue - Just character speach in general, e.g.

Luna: Hello Bean! *waves*
Sabine: Oh, hi! *runs over* where have you been?

All action must be in astrix, all thoughts in italics.

Way two - Paragraphing - RPing as though in a novel or book.

Luna spotted Sabine near the tree. "Hello Bean!" she cried excitedly, waving as she came near.

All thoughs must be in italics, all words in quotations.

Just RP whichever why you are most confortable with :3

It would be wise to note that in the society of Rping -in which I have been heavily involved so I know this for a fact- the 1st way of rping (with astrix and such) is looked down upon and is noted to be highly ..... basic, to be put nicely. The second way of Rping, in the novel format, is looked upon highly and is generally accepted to be the 'proper' way of Rping.

This is not to say you can't RP in the first way, it is just more accepted and better for quality if you RP in the second (novel-type) way.

Thanks,

-Dan

to add to that, i have a friend who refuses to roleplay in anyway but future tense paragraph form. it is so confusing if one person does future and another does present or past tense. i recomend every one conforming to one tense in paragraph roleplay depending on the rp and those involved. otherwise it gets really messy and confusing.

Yes, the tense should almost always be in past tense, and in the third person narrative form.

Edit: my bad, my sugar filled mind made a mistake.

Don't know about you, but I have NEVER seen a roleplay done in present tense, and I have been around the block. Just think about it. It MIGHT make some sense, but nothing is ever currently happening in the roleplay. A novel isn't written in present tense, is it? So shouldn't a roleplay.

Like in the example. In present tense, that would be: 'Luna spots Sabine near the tree. "Hello Bean!" she cries excitedly, waving as she came near.'

That does make sense in the span of roleplay. But it doesn't in the span of storytelling. Because that is technically what we are doing here. Even as we narrate the actions of the characters, those actions have already happened.

Make sense?

And we'll roleplay as we please. It doesn't matter what format it's in, the 'proper' way is not THE way. I know for a fact. Some of us have a time constriction, and as much as we might like to roleplay in a way found 'fit' and 'proper' we are unable to. This I know as a fact as well.

i know it doesn't make sence i yell at him to switch to past tense like everyday!!
future tence is even more head-achey such is it:

ex "Luna would spot Sabine near the tree. "Hello Bean!" she would cry excitedly, waving as she came near."

I read half a page of that and my eyes died on me. it was all messed up.
i was just adding in that for paragraph form it's easiest to standardize the tense usage is all.

OH okay...had a brain fart, did we? xD

I thought that was a bit off....

Yes, the tense should at least stay the same for paragraphing...usually that's common sense xD but I guess for some twits, it ain't eek.gif
