i'm a postin it! here's 'Night' in all its glory.......


Night

Now’s the time to forget the day:
Carpe Noctem, seize the night,
Grip it in your hands,
Take it, embrace it, hold on tight,
Don’t lose it in the winds of chance.

Night is a time of secrets and silence:
Run through moonbeam-bathed grass, bare feet,
Floating, falling, drifting off,
Don’t miss this magick time for sleep,
There’s far too little of it to rest or stop.

Watch the shadows shift and change:
Dark and light dance such a fine line,
Each taking turns playing tricks to the eyes,
Ignore the monsters that plague our minds,
Night isn’t anything that should be despised.

Leave all thoughts and cares behind:
There’s nothing now but the sweet darkness,
Let it embrace you, erase all but night,
There is naught but love in the full moon’s breast,
Enjoy what’s left of it until morning’s first light.

The darkness fades slowly, nearly unnoticeably:
Stars dim their vibrant fire, to sleep away the day,
The garish light of the sun streaks in where it’s unwanted,
Plants are painted, a dewdrop masterpiece, without delay,
The moon dips low, leaving the far horizon seeming haunted.

Night slips to day without a thought or a care:
Soft, then shrill sounds the awakened morning bird,
Those of the night slip away while the shadows last,
The songs of the darkness are no longer heard,
Time to sleep, the night and magick have passed.

That's like....fourth place. Yanno, those things they give to the less-than-best so they don't feel like crap. Blah, what bull. I never got to read the poems that did win. Probably something sappy about war or other mushy topic that the human race would find appealing. Barf. Teachers can't respect the kind of abstracticy found in our poems...

wow. good jo0b on the h.m. my english teacher read mine and said i should turn it in to them and it was really good and such crap (so i do). wow...... *shrug* it was a multicultural club event, they probubly didn't get it as it wasn't cultural.....to them.lol.

.....after winning the nobel peace prize she is elected as world ruler and brings the world into an age of peace that lasts for a thousand years, then dies because she started laughing while drinking hot cocoa and choked on a marshmallow. Her decendants fight over who will follow and lead the world in her place and accidently blow up the universe in the process.
