Crash Course

"Chief were preparing to follow truth into the ark" Shouted a marine. The Covenant Banshee's bombarded John's pelican. The pelican began to shake and rock, the pull got so strong that marines were being ripped from their seats. One marine was barley holding on, knowing the marine was loosing his grip, John leapt from his seat and grabbed the marine's hand.

"I'm slipping" a marine shouted, unfazed by the frantic marine, john hoisted the marine up and threw him to the cockpit. From throwing the marine, John was unstable, and fell out of the pelican. Hurdling into the atmosphere, a normal unarmored man would have burnt up due to intense heat but a mixture of John's Integrated Covenant shield tech and his Mark IV Mjoiner Power Assault armor's gel layer stiffened up and stop the heat from incinerating John. Like a meteor in the sky John began to fall to the mysterious planet. Crashing into the Island, John left a wide crater and had temporary paralysis.

Giving the paralysis time to wear off, John studied the terrain "I've never seen this place before and I'm pretty sure that there is no U.N.S.C or Covenant forces around this area, and I should take a look around." John saw that the land was full of beautiful flora and fauna, animals were actually gathering around where John had crashed landed. John gazed off toward the river, of in the distance John saw the makings of an larger island.

"That means I am on one of the outlaying islands, but how many islands are there and if there are any dangers out there" He thought, but he himself wasn't sure.

[I suppose this answers your question. Yes, you wait for a mod to take up your quest. Oh, and I would watch how you string your sentences together; they run-on a bit. Also we generally have thoughts in italics unless they are spoken as well. Just a few tips.]

The sun was low in the sky as the Chief surveyed his surroundings, marking the day as nearly over. When he moved to get a better perspective of the main island, the animals around him stirred and scurried away, scared of the new arrival and of what he was capable.

Down the beach a bit the Spartan could see a small group of children playing... or, at least that's sort of what it looked like they were doing. Although laughs could be heard and light-hearted joking, it appeared more as if they were fighting or sparring. Perhaps this world was more hostile than it originally appeared if children were training themselves to fight.

John began to cautiously head toward the children but keeping a distance. He did not whether they were hostile or not. I wonder how they will react to my because based on what i have seen they are not technology advanced. In case they are hostile John kept his hand near his pistol.

"Hey, that's not fair Wakka!" one of the boys shouted to the other, eyes widening as his staff was knocked across the sand right to Master Chief's feet. He had been disarmed by a rather well-aimed beach ball toss and was sent reeling as he no longer had the means to defend himself.

"Don't be pullin' that garbage, Tidus!" The other boy said, rotating his arm a little after picking up the ball. "You've used your staff to knock my ball away from me plenty of times!"

"Whatever..." the first boy stated in a mopey tone, walking over to his staff but looking at his friends. He didn't see John standing there until the spartan's shadow had covered him completely. Tidus turned slowly and looked up while lowering his arm to grab his staff, only to jump backward with a start.

They're nothing but little kid John thought, Reflecting back to the grunt name for himself. To stop any more hostilities, john holstered his magnum.
" I come in peace, I just want to know where i am" John kindly said. But if there is any further hostile gestures I will stop this.

"You're... uh..." Tidus was still slowly backing away, even after John holstered his weapon. "...on Destiny Islands."

"Yeah, and it's obvious you're not from around here, mon." Wakka stated evenly, walking over to the Chief. "I'm Wakka, this is Tidus, and over there is Selphie."

Selphie, who had been a little reluctant to say much of anything after John had appeared, immediately ran over to him and started looking him over.

"WOW!" the girl exclaimed, "That's some really cool armor! You're like a high-tech knight or something!"

A knight, well at least that's better than demon. "Well actually I'm what you call a Spartan, Destiny Island you say?" John had figured out by this time that these kids were to young to have different motives. Not knowing were the adults were and if there were any at all, John was puzzled.

"Spartan?" The girl inquired, poking Master Chief's arm. "Wasn't there a movie or something about them?"

"Selphie, I'm sure it's based off of the actual warriors from history and not some weird movie." Tidus retorted, finally easing up a bit and crossing his hands behind his head. He then nodded at John's question.

"Yeah, this is one of the Destiny Islands." Wakka chimed in, "It's one of the smaller ones though, which is why were play around on it so much. Can't build anything bigger than shacks and tree houses, so no one tries to do anything with it."

"So where do you come from? Mister... uh... you never really said your name, Mister Spartan." Selphie concluded, looking a bit puzzled.

A movie, after Spartan's how is that.
"I am Petty Officer Master Chief, and my name is John-117." John continued "I'm from the planet Eridanus II,and I am part of the United Nation's Space Command."

By looking at these kid's puzzled face, John knew that they had no clue about the Human-Covenant war. Strange world indeed, but if i found a way in there must be a way out

"It's nice to meetcha, mister Chief!" Selphie said with a wide smile, causing both Tidus and Wakka to roll their eyes. "We've never heard of Eri-da-nus two, but I'm sure it's a swell place!"

"So, how did you get here?" Tidus inquired, trying to switch subjects as fast as possible. He peered behind John. "Most people just sorta wake up here, but judging by that hole in the beach back there, you did something a little different."

Wakka was about to say something, but the sky was suddenly veiled by an unnatural darkness. This caused the children to shift demeanor dramatically - all three of them went from casual and playful to as alert as the most well-trained marine Master Chief had seen. Despite the toys they were carrying, they suddenly wielded them like weapons, standing back-to-back.

"Somethin's stirrin', John." Wakka said finally, holding his arm out and twisting it a bit to stretch it. "There's heartless comin', so you better get ready."

The sudden darkness and the children's uneasiness, something was going south and in a hurry. John never liked darkness, reminds him of the fall of reach.

Linda, Will!!!!! The names of his fallen comrades echoed in his head. Shot with a plasma bolt, and launched into space where the fates of his comrades. A large eruption shock the foundation of the spaceport. John leapt out of his seat, to the window John rushed. Only for his heart to sink even lower, for the Covenant began to glass Reach.

Snapping out of the flashback, John leapt in front of the Children "Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie get behind me. John dug his left foot into the ground and un-holstered his trusty M6C Magnum.

The darkness stirred around the children and super soldier even more, and the sun's warmth could not loner be felt upon the sands of the island. Shadows of the mountain, trees, and even the four people standing upon the beach, began to quiver and spasm strangely, as if having some sort of reaction to the sudden shade that fell over the area.

Out of the shadows of the objects around skittered several small creatures, seemingly made from the darkness itself. Small, child-like bodies formed into a three dimensional shape, giving rise to large heads and bug-like yellow eyes. Although their skittering didn't make them look particularly menacing, their piercing gaze upon their colorless faces did.

Five Shadowed creature's stood around John and the three children. Smaller than an Elite but any creature should pose a threat

John relaxed his left arm, it could be a steadier shot.

[Description of your actual attacks in your fights is a great way to spice things up, even if you're just using the same technique over and over. Also, look to how I post damage for a variant that's a little easier to read.]

Two shots rang out, striking true against the dark creatures. Small flecks of black could be seen coming off the shadows as they were hit, but seemed to be made of slightly tougher stuff than they appeared. One of the shot heartless scurried up to Master Chief and attempted to claw at his ankle. Not the most imposing of attacks, but there was no telling how his armor stood up to a creature made of pure shadow.

The Shadowed creature swung at John's ankles but the Spartan easily dodged the attack. In mid-air, John dropped back enough to put distance between his foes. Digging his feet into the ground, John leapt into a full sprint jumping over two of the heartless. Taking advantage of his speed and agility John quickly slammed his pistol into the creature.

The shadow creature was slammed hard by the pistol, and the children watched in awe as the single strike was enough to reduce it to nothing. Small bits of black vapor rose into the air and dissipated, all that remained of it.

In retaliation, another one scurried up and scratched at Master Chief's thigh.

With one foe vanquished, John glanced back to check on the kids. John had let his guard down, to early. One of the creatures leapt and slashed John's thigh. Quickly diving into the sand, John quickly moved into a full commando roll. John decided to get a little creative with the next foe, He ran towards the nearest tree. Running up the tree John got half way up it, and just leapt of the tree. The tree shattered upon impact when John leapt off of it. While in the area, John squeezed 6 shot's out of his magnum, before discharging the clip.

Two more of the black creatures fell before the spartan, his shots ringing true and nailing the heartless right between the eyes over and over again. The kids were holding their own against another wave of the shadows to arrive, but it was obvious that his efforts were helping them focus on their own enemies without worrying about his.

As the latest two heartless were returned to darkness, one of the remaining ones scurried up to John, attempting to claw at his leg as its brother had before it.

[It's fine since they died anyway, but don't forget your +1 damage boost from your trait. You can distribute that to one of your shots. Also, it would be best if you put both the element and the type, as it will help your opponents figure how much damage their taking without looking at your stats (which you should link to in your sig when you get a chance). So, in your last post, you could have put "Pistol Shot > 3 piercing Dmg {ballistic}".]

Once again a shadowed creature was able to catch John off guard. Instead of having a full offensive, the creature forgot that it had now gotten into John's proximity. John took advantage of the fiend's attack. The spartan rose his left arm and slammed it with great force into the creatures cranium.

[I did but the bonus wasn't needed to eliminate those two, so i didn't think i need to put it under there but thank you......and I accidentally put ballistic in piercing slot lol]

Master Chief's latest counter left just one heartless remaining, the struck one literally having its formless skull bashed in by the spartan's weighty and super-strengthened fist. Dark vapor rose all around Master Chief's hand as the final denizen of darkness lunged at him, jumping through the air and trying to latch on to his face.

The remnants of the last creature stayed long enough for the last foe to dive thought the vapor. Creature latched on to John's helmet, This caught John of guard. Also throwing the one ton Spartan off balance, causing him to fall to the ground. With his HUD completely black, John decided to grab the creature and hurl it in to the air. John took careful aim as the creature was falling back down towards him. For a brief moment, John closed his eyes before he could pull the trigger not knowing if he hit his target of not.....

The final heartless was reduced to black vapor as well as John's shot was dead-on. Although the kids had also finished off the creatures they had been fighting, darkness had not been lifted from the islands just yet. Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie rushed over to Master Chief while shadows still seemed to stir on the fringes of the immediate area.

"Hey, Mister John, are you okay?" The girl inquired, actually trying to help him up before realizing he weighed several thousand times she did. As a result, she ended up throwing herself face-first into the sand.

"That was a close one." Tidus chimed in, looking around a bit. "But it's not over yet!"

"Yeah, let's head up to the island so we don't get surrounded." Wakka suggested, pointing to a small flat island not far from where they were. They would have to go through a small wooden shack to reach the upper level first, as that was the only way to reach the bridge across. Normally, they would be able to swim it, but Master Chief wasn't exactly the swimming type.

John, first holstered is pistol and let out a sigh. The immediate danger has seemed to pass, and Selphie's attempt to help John to his feet lightened the mood. John leaned forward and lifted himself up, then he extended his arm to help the young girl up.

John had took take one more look around the island to make sure no more shadowed foes lie in wait. His radar did not seem to pick any enemies.

"Which way to the main island?" John asked turning his attention to Tidus and Wakka.

"The main island?" Tidus questioned, pointing to a larger island that appeared to be a couple miles from the one on which they were on currently. "We haven't ever really tried to take a boat over to it during the middle of an attack." He then pointed to the small island they had picked out moments earlier. "We usually just hide out on that one until the darkness passes."

"But, Tidus, he might have a point." Wakka chimed in, entering a thoughtful expression. "So far, we have only seen Heartless that can attack by land or air, and the air ones are really rare..."

The three teens looked toward the dock, but then Tidus smacked himself on the forehead.

"How would we ever get there with John though? He ways more than that mountain!" The blond boy exclaimed.

"I don't know, let's just figure something out before they come back!" Selphie yelled out, and they began leading the spartan to the docks.

The mountain really, they think I way that much... a scorpion weighs more than me. John was worried about these rare flying creatures Selphie spoke of, because rare never really counted for John. Several times people would say that it never rarely happens, but it does. A sad fact in this Spartan's case. Cortana picked John for his luck, indeed he had the good luck and bad luck. It seemed that they have been running for a eternity now. The bridge seemed like it was getting farther and farther away. John looked back at his companion's and saw that the were very winded, he stopped to allow them to rest.

"So did you three find away to get me a across yet?" John questioned intently
