It was fun while it lasted and I was glad to be friends with you lot, but it's been nearly a full month since any activity here.
Good luck with your grand plans for your website, man. I wish you well.
See you guys on NGBBS |

Writing competition/fun! |

It's time to do some writing, I believe. Three stories of these genres and by these rules:
Rule #1: All three submitted stories must be original work and not made previously for other competitions or such - simply: The work you submit in this competition must be NEW and can't be something you wrote 6 years/months/weeks(/whatever) ago.
Rule #2: The language must be English.
Rule #3: The genres will be:
STORY ONE: City Noir - Story about underground/criminal life - may be whatever city or suburb you want - your local town/city, or a place known to many (ergo London, New York, Paris et cetera).
STORY TWO: Entertainment Business - Story about a character with a life in entertainment business such as one involving a TV-show actor/actress, TV/film-producer or such. The mood can be either light or dark but with a twist on it. (The reason to this kind of "genre" is to try something new).
STORY THREE: This particular story will be about one or more characters going on a trip. And as the saying goes: "It's not the destination, but the road you take that makes the whole trip worth-while" (something like that, anyway). Obviously[!] this means that the story should not involve much about where they're going, but how they get there.
Rule #4: You can write all of these three stories, or just one of them, or more than one in the particular genre you choose. The idea is to try out new story plots and genres - to have an otherwise "romantic writer" to write a piece about criminals in Brooklyn can share a different twist than one use reading those kind of novels would usually encounter with the genre's usual stereotype authors.
Rule #5: The novel can not be divided into different posts. It must be one piece with less than 8´192 letters (as the maxium number of characters in a Newgrounds post).
If the letter count would exceed these standards with a few letters, that's no biggie, but try to keep it simple. It's supposed to be a novel, not a book.
Rule #6: Make it good! |
