Title: Event Ideas?

Elizabeth - October 6, 2009 02:12 AM (GMT)
Events are fun right? So let's make some!

I was thinking we could have more than one event at a time, in case of an event that doesn't provoke much interest in some. Not everyone is interested in or can join a school event, some people may not enjoy a little fighting; giving some options might be a good thing.

School events are rather easy; we could do a crossdressing pageant again and/or a Miss Yasogami high. Field trips and culture festivals are something that can be done. Towns, we could events at shrines or a parade... I'm not sure how much interest it would garner though.

For Story events, I thought that maybe we could start with some rumors coming to life or have someone show up in the midnight channel.

What are your thoughts?

Ooh, ooh, for a school event, could there be, like, an orientation? For the new students and everything?

As for the story, I think it depends on just how much we're trying to follow the Persona storylines. I mean, there's no reason why it can't begin with something that our characters already know about (Midnight Channel, Tartarus) and move into something bigger and more mysterious (Catholic church), but I would rather this not follow the exact same plot as one of the games, you know?

Elizabeth - October 6, 2009 10:34 PM (GMT)
Of course! That seems just right for a school setting, so I don't see why not.

We're not going to follow the storyline exactly since, plot-wise, the events of both games have already concluded. I would see it as a sort of nudge for the characters that things have gone wrong again. And as a way for those who've lost their personas to regain them.

Also, do you have an idea on how you will use the church?

Blonde Young Man - October 6, 2009 10:41 PM (GMT)
Uhm, except for that little bit about what we talked about yesterday, I don't really know. I mean, I'm sure that I'll rp there solo, obviously, even if it's just recapping what's been happening lately.

I also wanted to use it as a meeting place for whenever I find anyone that may wish to help with my cause.

Oh, and, as for these events in general, are we going to try to do a marathon kind of thing where we do these over the course of one night or week-end, or are we just going to let it run through however long it lasts?

Elizabeth - October 6, 2009 10:48 PM (GMT)
Alright. We'll need to flesh this idea out soon though; I'm eager to see what things will be shaped by it.

That's a good question.
If we decide to it over the course of certain nights or a certain week, it may be more organized. But time constraints and busy schedules may be a problem.
A marathon might fixed that problem but it depends on how dedicated people are. They might think they have all the time in the world and push it off until the very latest.

I'm not really sure which one would be better...

Blonde Young Man - October 6, 2009 10:52 PM (GMT)
I suppose that it's all relative to whether or not we can pull off a marathon, I think. The most fun I had with 100 Masks (on the forum...) was during the Tartarus thread, where some of us all stayed on that whole time.

It's pretty ambitious, I know, but I think we can try it. We might need to lower our standards and try not to create a masterpiece for every post so that we can finish it quicker.

That was the most entertaining thread on the forum. Different characters working together, facing shadows selves, exploring Tartarus... it was all very fun. I'd wish I could have seen the end to that...

I think that's the plan we should go with. For an event like that, I wouldn't mind if the posts were shorter or less glorious.... if it helps advance the story, a 50 word post is better than a 20000000 words post about eating noodles with your friends.

AMEN. Honestly, I would sometimes sit and stare at the screen for 20 minutes trying to think out something to write that would fit into a couple of paragraphs. Sometimes you just can't write out a long description for "And ___ was knocked down by the shadow.". I'm also happy that we have a little freedom when it comes to how closely we follow the game storyline. We were really onto something at 100Masks with the idea of people who had died in the games suddenly showing up and possibly being living shadows, I hope we can do more with that here. And as for marathons and time limits, I was another person who would keep checking the Tartarus thread throught the night. I think our best bet is maybe, not to have something set in stone, seeing as we all live in different time zones, but maybe limit the events to a week or so. Hope we get things moving soon!

Blonde Young Man - October 8, 2009 12:39 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I agree.

I'd like to start doing, uh, something, soon. I mean, I know that we need new members first, but, I'm just saying, I'm ready.

I think I'm going to start a little CYOA over here for you guys. Sound like fun?

Yosuke - October 8, 2009 02:43 AM (GMT)
I'm ready too and what's CYOA :o?

Pharos - October 9, 2009 05:47 PM (GMT)
... ... ...

I never had the chance to be involved with those threads 'cuz I was either characters who didn't have personas or characters who had no reason to be there. I'm not an intrusive person by nature and a lot of my characters aren't that way, either, I feel. I'm up for a thread like that one, but I think if we do stuff like that we should come up with ways for characters to be more involved, because I personally don't like the idea of "I showed up here randomly and now I'm going to insert myself into the conflict"

I think before we do stuff like Tartarus or battle threads, we need to establish and build - just a little bit - relationships between characters, like with the school threads and stuff (that was always MY favorite part of the actual games, the character interaction.) Um... Yeah, I'm being selfish now with what I'm going to say next, but I'd like if there could be events that would somehow include Pharos and/or Adachi, since everyone else is a high school student pretty much...

Sooo... I don't have much more to say, I guess. And I don't really have any new ideas, either... v_v" s-sorry...

Elizabeth - October 10, 2009 01:00 AM (GMT)
@Yosuke: Right! I think we can be a little kind about things like that, so it'll be allowed.

And me too! I really thought some of the ideas we went along with at 100 masks was pretty great, particularly the dead coming back as shadows. I think we should work that into the story, if we can.

@Blond Young Man: CYOA? C-Choose your own adventure I'm guessing? :"D

@Pharos: I don't want to leave anyone out. I'd like to involve as much people as we could into the event as possible. Some events could work out like that... like, we could expand the pageant to be a town event where anyone could participate.

You're not being selfish, please don't worry! I'm glad you gave us your thoughts.
