Jamie Vermiglio is an absolute legend. He obviously loves the club and playing football in general. Even if he isnt playing, im sure just having him around the team boosts the morale tremendously. If he has to give up get him in as a coach or get him involved in the club somewhere. A character like that is indispensable.
Top Man. :clap
lawleylad - February 25, 2009 05:19 PM (GMT)
Jamie personifies the determination and commitment of AFC Telford and despite not being the most gifted technically always gives 100% and by doing so gives a lift to everyone around him. A much admired and respected man who can provide the inspiration to take us all the way, whether he plays or not. Lets hope the second opinion is more optimistic.
Ashby Buck - February 25, 2009 05:29 PM (GMT)
Get well Jamie, no more risks
Bikerbuck - February 25, 2009 05:49 PM (GMT)
jamie just on the radio . dont play again jamie nothing is worth the risk you are taking

Damn right, he has to be at the club in some capacity...
Just heard him on the radio and he is very clearly worried/gutted about his back and about his playing career.
too big a character to lose altogether, so AFC find him something whether he is playing or there for the team and the FANS
Totally gutted at this minute
RC AFC Telford - February 25, 2009 05:53 PM (GMT)
Are the doctors saying he shouldn't play football again or shouldn't play for the time being i'm a bit confused?

RC AFC Telford - February 25, 2009 06:03 PM (GMT)
Gutted excellent lad! Hopefully it will turn out to be not, as serious, as reports are stating.
Bikerbuck - February 25, 2009 06:12 PM (GMT)
Jamie said that rob, Larry and lee pleaded with not to play last night. But he did not want Saturdays draw with Southport to be his last game
dancindannyjones - February 25, 2009 06:14 PM (GMT)
Shocking news for absoulte cracking player with a lively personality, it's ashame this has happend to him, i hope he can recover from the stress fracture and start playing a massive role in our future seasons
Nadaljnr - February 25, 2009 06:19 PM (GMT)
Jamie
Think about your family and yourself mate. If we get to Wembley we the fans will insist that you are there. We own the club you will not miss out but don't risk your happy and successful life ahead of you for us.
Giggy - February 25, 2009 06:52 PM (GMT)
Having now seen all the info on here and heard the interview with the clearly devastated Jamie we are just going to have to hope the second opinion is more promising. In the worst case scenario no one could blame him if he had to put his family and health first.
On top of everything else Jamie is an essential personality at the club and the club needs to rally round whatever happens now.
Lee - February 25, 2009 07:15 PM (GMT)
gotta agree with nadal - jamie its not worth your future for yourself and your family, your clearly mental for playing yesterday but i applaud you and hope the 2nd opinion brings some better news
GlasgowBuck - February 25, 2009 07:46 PM (GMT)
BucksChats own.
Jamie your courage and bravery is to be applauded, you truly are a Telford legend in the making. I hope for your sake the news is not career ending. But please, take time out now, allow your body to reheal and we in turn will be patient and waiting at the other side of the long rehabilitation process, to once again cheer you on in the white shirt.

Do you seriously think we would need to demand anything from the club for Jamie.

There was something about last night....
Jamie - you are a man of honour, humour, energy and commitment.
You must be such a prized teacher - make sure you protect yourself for your family and think how you can continue to bring your special skills and qualities to the thousands of children you will influence in your life.
You have built such a great rapport with us supporters, an individual that is immediately engaging and liked. Respect our wishes and protect yourself.
There is a great seat next to me and my brother in the SSR stand - just below Huddy and the Radio Shropshire lads - be our guests and join us as you rest and get better!

We get him out there on the pitch, 20,000 of us chant his name whatever it takes.
He is not a staff member he is a local hero for what he did last night.
Next hall of famer from the AFCTU era in my opinion.
We need to ensure he feels he does not have to risk his body to get the players feel of Wembley Stadium.
However it's irelevent as we must focus on York and even more so Hyde.
