Title: The NFL Thread
Description: The Quest For The Super Bowl

Willsbigboy - August 21, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)
Its almost upon us again and time to step up and say who ya got to go all the way.

My picks:

NFC champ: Dallas over Seattle(depedning on T.O. being a model citizen and playing to his potential)

AFC champ: Indianapolis over New Engalnd/Pitssburgh(cant decide which, but Peyton will find a way to beat either of them)

SuperBowl: Indy over Dallas

Season MVP : Peyton Manning/Shaun Alexander(toss up for me at this point, so im going with Co-Champions)

Legend Killer - August 21, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
NFC Champions

Atlanta Falcons
They are my team, hence they will win, simple. They will beat fellow NFC South members Carolina in the Championship Game.

AFC Champions

Denver Broncos
Good back-up to Plummer, Mike Bell showing just how good of a Running Back he is, Broncos to beat the Chiefs in the Championship Game

MVP : Michael Vick, its his time to shine, and he will with flying colours, leading the Falcons to Superbowl Glory

exx - August 21, 2006 03:12 AM (GMT)
I'll go with the Patriots. I'm still not convinced that Indy can win the game against a Pittsburgh/NE defense geared to stop Manning. And I think the loss of Bettis hurts Pittsburgh more than alot of people realize. I take the Eagles to win the NFC and lose in the super bowl yet again.

Darryl The Hitman - August 22, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)
My friend Jason (the guy who took me to se Aerosmith and Nirvana twice each in Vancouver and invited me down to his house {24 hours south of me} to watch Woodstock 94 on PPV with him so I could see Aerosmith/Metallica Back-to-back) died of a brain tumor at the age of 26 on Friday, August 13th, 1999. :(

His favorite NFL Team was the Buffalo Bills. So, despite knowing nothing about the sport and having no interest in following it, I always root for the Bills to finally win the Super Bowl just so Jason can look down from above and smile. :)

Having said that, I have no idea if they have a good, bad, or mediocre team this year.

Darryl The Hitman - September 18, 2006 05:01 AM (GMT)
Happily, Buffalo did indeed bounce back this week so they're up to .500 now at 1-1. Hopefully, they can get some momentum out of this and make it to the playoffs. I understand that's a tough thing in the NFL as only, what, 12 out of 32 teams make it?

So much for the Bears undefeated streak......

Had to happen sooner or later.
I just wish the Bears lost to a better team.
And didn't have SIX turnovers.

Yeah, I was watching that game and pulling for the Bengals. That Chad Johnson long-bomb TD was awesome when they were going back-and-forth with scoring. But Cincy really blew it.
Damn shame.

Willsbigboy - November 13, 2006 05:18 PM (GMT)
I was going to make tease joke to Darryl about a good news/bad news situation. Goods news being Indy played Buffalo and Bad news being Buffalo played Indy....but they ALMOST would have made me look dumb. ^_^

Darryl The Hitman - November 20, 2006 04:41 AM (GMT)

Actually 10-6 might not be good enough. The AFC is really strong this year.
