Kurogane hissed in pain and retracted his hand. The pointer finger was already looking a bit red and irritated. He shot a glare in the direction of the pan sitting innocently on the stove's eye. He hadn't realized it would get so hot so quickly.

"Burn yourself, Kuro-Puppy?" Fye asked, sleepily, from his spot at the table.

Kurogane cursed under his breath and carefully began flipping the eggs. He didn't notice Fye getting up and crossing the room until he heard the blonde's voice in his ear and felt breath tickling his cheek.

"Let me see it."

Before he could protest, or really even comprehend what the mage intended, Fye had taken hold of the injured hand and lifted it up.

Fye looked at the burnt finger for only a moment before, to Kurogane's shock, he slid his lips over the injury. Kurogane's breath caught in his throat for a second.

And in that second, it was over.

"All better?" Fye asked, smiling up at him.

Kurogane looked at those lips, tempted to lean in and capture them for his own. But before he could, a terrible smell hit his nose.

"Eggs are burning!" Fye chirped, turning and skipping back to the table.

Damn eggs.
