The Quibbler
Hey guys! This is the second edition of The Quibbler! The newsletter consists of two sections, fondly called LOL ADMIN STUFF and WOO PLOT STUFF. The first one deals with changes around the board, and the second deals with what is actually happening in BE's storyline. Easy enough, right? Right.
LOL ADMIN STUFF
You better take care of that car. Or, I swear, I'll haunt your ass. Another change in staff has gone down; Spazikstan has retired from us for good and named Sally to take her place. We were sad to see Spaz go, and so we conducted this little farewell interview to see her off. Sally is doing a great job as BE's new Ravenclaw admin, though, and we welcome her with open arms!
This is not a robbery! Everybody on the floor, now! A couple of canons have changed hands; since Spaz's retirement, DarkwingDuck has taken over for Remus Lupin and Severus Snape. Wish her good luck!
You think it's 'cause we're so awesome? I think it's 'cause it's we're so awesome. We've gotten a few new members lately! Please welcome Devin Darcy, Gabriella Zabini, Kaitlyn Delaney, and Gemma Carrow to the BE family, and show them around if they need help!
I'm gonna stop the big bad wolf. Which is the weirdest thing I've ever said. Chance cards are coming around again soon. Since we've been really inactive lately, everyone's going to get one. Be on the lookout for a PM from the admin account with your new chance card!
Clowns or midgets? Got a question for the admin? PM it to me and I'll include our answers in the next edition of the Quibbler. Anything from our favorite colors to board rules to what we like to eat for dinner...feel free to ask it!
I'm not gonna die in a hospital where the nurses aren't even hot. If you've noticed, BE's plot stalled a few months ago and it's been hard to get it back on track. In order to keep us active, we moved the month into December and left the threads from the Hogsmeade attack up so they can still be finished. The sitewide plot, though is still moving forward. Check the Woo Plot Stuff section of this newsletter for a summary of what happened during the Hogsmeade attack.
Who here hasn't shot a few people? There were, sadly, a few deaths that ocurred during the Hogsmeade attack. The BE staff would like you to know that we had full permission from the users whose characters died to kill off their characters. Those characters who died belonged to users who no longer had time for the site, and asked us to do the dirty deeds. BE will never kill off your character without your express permission!
I don't like rats. Rats are gross. Rats are like...the rats of the world. Unfortunately, our dear Frella (Frank Longbottom, Bellatrix Lestrange) has been forced to go on extended leave because of nasty comupter problems. We've also lost Potato (Tucker Jensen, Calix Bradford, Edgar Bones) who had to leave us because of time constraints with roleplaying. We'll miss you both, and come back soon, Frella!
You're almost hell's bitch, so you can see hell's other bitches. Do you like BE? In the past few months, Emmi and Rancid have opened two other roleplay sites that you might be interested in. One is an original mutant-based RPG called Stonehearth, and the other is a roleplay based on Season One of the CW's Supernatural called Veritas. Check 'em out!
WOO PLOT STUFF
House rules, Sammy. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole. Apparently, a few unnamed Death Eaters thought it would be a great idea to sack Hogsmeade without Lord Voldemort's permission - and the attack got out of hand. Rodolphus Lestrange, his wife Bellatrix, and Fenrir Greyback, believing that the orders had come directly from the Dark Lord, utterly destroyed Hogsmeade with the help of a few other Death Eaters.
Unfortunately, the Dark Lord did not approve of this plan, and put a quick end to the Hogsmeade attack and those who had begun it. Not before Hogwarts and it's students took heavy casualties, though. Bella, Rodolphus, and Fenrir remain in the good graces of the Dark Lord, because they were acting out of pure loyalty.
Albus Dumbledore faced the Dark Lord for a few short words and thrown spells during the battle, but Voldemort withdrew his forces before any real fighting could be done.
Family don't end in blood, boy. There were many deaths in the battle at Hogsmeade, including some who were children of loyal pureblood families. Injuries were even more numerous, and more than one Death Eater who might have been useful elsewhere was put out of service at least for the time being. You can look here to find a full list of deaths and injuries. Lord Voldemort was most displeased, indeed. We are so screwed. The Marauders are not in good shape. Pete's in St. Mungo's with crushed legs, Sirius has got a bum leg and various inconveniencing injuries, and James earned himself a bloody nose and a broken jaw. Remus remains uninjured physically, but because of a comment made by Fenrir Greyback during the battle, his might be the worst condition of all - now the whole school knows that he's a werewolf.
It just feels like something's starting. After Isolde West's fiance returned her to the castle safely, he returned back into the fighting. Calix was not seen alive again - the next time Isolde saw him, he was being carried into the Great Hall with the bodies of several other students who had been killed in the attack. Now Isolde is left with no fiance, and faces the next few months as a woman in mourning.
A lot of good people died in there, and I got to live. Lucky me. Back at the castle, several students made it back alive. One student, Robin Addison, found herself the victim of the Imperius Curse, and spread a short-lived illness through the hospital wing already filled with the casualties of the attack. Robin was stopped by Laylend McDowel and returned to herself, but not before she made a few injuries all the more painful.
I'm Batman! Mark Brazzleton's battle with Bellatrix Lestrange has become legendary throughout the school. Mark's currently in St. Mungo's, where his condition is listed as Ambiguous. Translation: no-one knows and the hospital isn't telling. Tristan McAllister and Wesley Cutteridge were treated in the hospital wing, and their friend Isabel still remains in critical condition at St. Mungo's.
Dude, I full-on Swayze'd that mother. A horrible cold has come over Brennan Maddox - thanks to the spell thrown at him by Gerrick Blake. When Maddox tried to torture Katya Ivanova - masked, of course - Gerrick gave him a nasty flu to rival anything he could catch naturally. He still hasn't gotten over his little - fascination with Ivanova, though, and plans to keep a close eye on her for the time being. Tabitha Salvage witnessed the entire event, though she did not know that the masked figure was her betrothed.
But if this fugly bastard raises his head, I'll know. I mean, I'm on it like Divine on dog dookie. Hogsmeade's closed to students right now. The only people who should be in it are those rebuilding it, or members of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Most of the buildings were either lit on fire or completely blown away. The Ministry of Magic is now keeping an eagle eye on Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, just waiting for the first sign of trouble.
Hello? Neil?! It's your grief counselors, we've come to hug. Several other incident peppered the attack - Desiree Trask was hit by a spell that made her horribly sick and took her to the hospital wing. Emerson Maddox was hit by some friendly fire that has him lain out at Death Eater HQ in critical condition. The school is in mass turmoil, and the students don't know what to do.
Much more happened, but there's too much to detail in this one newsletter - if you have any questions, please send a PM!
Subject titles are quotes taken from Eric Kripke's Supernatural.
