Instru-mants., Which do you play?

*pops in* Well... I don't know why I'm here... Topic revival is more Celsica's thing...

Anyway, I play cello. I've been playing for... Wow, almost five years now. I like to think I'm good, but I'm probably not. I also know a bit of viola and violin. One of my friends is trying tio have me learn piano, but I'm pretty sure that won't pan out.

Also, if you're still looking Celsica, some of the Zelda pieces are pretty simple if you can read music. Maybe you could try those?

Ohmai. I totally missed this thread. (First of all, Sil, I am so jealous of you playing the Cello~. Along with the viola, it's one of my favorite string instruments.)

So, um, I've been playing the Horn (formerly know as the French Horn) for about three or four years so far. It's, what I do believe, is my calling in terms of instruments. I just...feel natural playing it, despite the constant shoulder and jaw pains.
Okay, and the high demand is also one of my favorite perks ever. That's basically how I got into the provincial orchestra the first time (second time, I had to audition).

I've also been playing clarinet for some six years.

I considered clarinet before I started playing, along with flute. Is it fun?
And some of my friends play horn. It sounds really nice. I consider you lucky for being able to play those!

Once upon a time, I played the piano. This was way back in Middle school, where they had a piano class. I quite liked it, but when I graduated and went into high school, there was no piano class, we didn't have enough room or money at home for me to even get a keyboard, and not enough to take classes, so I gave up and took art classes instead for the credits I need in high school. I can't even read sheet music anymore.

I've been playing violin for 8 years, but unlike most people who play any instrument for that long, I can only play at a beginners level. I know how to play well, I'm just unable to play well because my hands aren't very dexterous. When one of my fingers moves then all of the other fingers move with it, so I hit wrong notes all the time if I have to move my hand a lot. I've been doing flexibility exercises for years to try and fix this, but they aren't working...

But I still play because orchestra is a super easy class, and my teacher is mega awesome, he even skips school.

Zelda songs... all right, I'll try that

I can play the slow Zelda songs like Zelda's Lullaby and Song of Healing. I know the notes to a lot of the Zelda songs, but I can't play them

I remember being able to play a number of Zelda themes on the clarinet, back in my Freshman year. I think my favorite one to play was the Deku Nut's Palace (though, in a slightly slower tempo). Then I tried Koume and Kotake's theme, but that failed horrendously. xD

I'm learning the Lost Woods song and self teaching the lullaby. It's a bit odd on the lower notes, but shifting is kind of hard.
And sadly, Baten Kaitos's music is hard to find for cello for some reason.

I have very little life and a self-driven music class. Could anything else have really happened?

Augh. Baten Kaitos music would be impossible to find for horn. D: I have loads of problems trying to go for it by ear too. It was only by chance that I found Zelda music for clarinet(unfortunately, the site that had it is closed), a HUGE list of Final Fantasy stuff, and an ability to transpose Phoenix Wright music for horn.

(The only thing that I remember finding lately was ToS2 music for piano.)

ToS 2 music! Like "The end of their Adventure" or "Person who concieves frenzy".

I printed the sheet music of "The end of his and her adventure". Is difficult for my level, but I just have it there, to daydream...

Well, I'm learning Melodies of Life from FFIX now, too. In order to have anything other than half notes and the occasional quarter, I have to move it up and octave from what the notes say, otherwise I'd have to figure out how to play a note lower than open C.

And that gives you something to strive for, yes? Now that I think of it, I need to learn To Zanarkand soon, too. *piles on more work*
