Instru-mants., Which do you play?

Simple. XP Just talk about an instrument you play (or if you sing, tell about how you sing or something like that) or of instruments you'd like to play.

I am personally learning Tenor saxophone for my marching/concert band at school. I previously played the violin for four years at middle school and fifth grade in elementary/primary school. I've played the mandolin for a year now with my father (who plays guitar, banjo, and bass). I also have a clarinet, alto sax, soprano sax and piano that I don't really play, and guitar which I really wanna play but my dad has no tab-using books and I can't play rhythm/chords for crap.

I want to learn about every (main) instrument in the world, but most of all trumpet, tuba, bari-sax, baritone, flute, viola, cello, bass(stringed and guitar), and also percussion (drum set and just general percussion). As you can tell by this and my art-stuffs, I am a very artsy person. XP

I play percussion in my band at school...I'm the drummer in a small band that my music teachers organized. I'm also taking Guitar. I used to take piano, but we couldn't afford it and i enjoyed drums and guitar more. my music teachers want me to start singing I'm like, no way. I really hate to sing in front of people. but they want me to anyway...
i was going to play the Flute in band at school...but i couldn't play it as well as all the percussion stuff...

My main instrument is Clarinet, which I've been playing for almost six years. His name is Clarence, or Larry for short. It's my band instrument. I went to a music camp for the last two weeks with my clarinet.

I also play piano, which was the instrument that I started with. I don't have a name for our piano, because it's my dad's and I think it would be wrong for me to name his instrument. I've been playing for about nine years. I play piano in the school jazz band because they don't allow clarinets in. I think that's a load of crap because clarinet could definitely be a jazz instrument, and piano jazz music is frickin' hard.

I play Alto Sax too. I've been playing it since last summer, and it was pretty easy to pick up after playing clarinet because the fingerings are so similar. His name is Octavian, and I couldn't think of a nickname you can get out of Octavian. I originally started to learn it because I wanted to get into the jazz band on saxophone, but I ended up on piano anyway.

I'm probably going to be learning to play the flute this summer. My teacher says the fingerings are really similar to sax fingerings, so we'll see how that goes.

There are also rumors (mainly coming from Blazey) that I'm also an awesome guitarist, but that has yet to be proven.

I've been playing the trumpet for the last 7 years, and I must say I've got relatively good at it. Or maybe that's just my inner brass player being arrogant again. We're good at that too. xD


I also play the guitar. Electric, acoustic and classical. Electric preferred though. I recently got a new electric (recently being a week ago) to replace the one that was broken for a year.

I play the Ocarina. (Yes it's the Zelda Ocarina with the Tri Force.) I can play almost all the Zelda songs! It's really fun! I even taught myself a FullMetal Alchemist song!

I 'kinda' play acoustic and electric gutair. I'm better at the acoustic because that's what I started with. I'm not really familiar enough with the electric's sound yet.

Sweet, I have one too! I love the advertisements Nintendo Power had that said "You found the Ocarina!" like it's some sort of accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself and do Link's awesome pose. (I'm not sure if it's still there, because my brother stopped subscribing to Nintendo Power. Jerk.)

I play a mean air guitar. *meedley meedley meedley*

On a more serious note, I'm a former percussionist. Former because I got tired of being in band. And this is keeping in mind I normally have a pretty high tolerance level.

I've played piano for twelve years, and I can now say I've perfected the the piano version of One-Winged Angel. Yay sheet music!!!

Yea, I'm alright at playing. *shrugs*

I'm now playing the Drums for three years =] And it's fun!!
I wanna join a band or somehting like that though

I just play the flute for school, even though I would like to learn something more....

I play the electric guitar mostly. i'm learning to play a wooden flute, not that it's that different from a metal one, but it sounds a lot more mysterious and it's very cool. i love it.

I used to be a percussionist, but not really anymore... I was fine with snare and stuff, I just can't read music. At all. I was always faking playing and falling asleep otherwise. -.- When I was really young I played piano, and about six years ago I played the harp for a bit.

I can still play the ocarina, kind of...

cool. i'd love to play the ocarina...that would be cool...and i can't really play the drums to save my life. or anything that has to keep a beat. i have no sense of rythem. can't even spell the word!

You know, people, I have been thinking to learn to play a violin. Could you tell me if it is a good idea?

No idea. I'm a woodwind person, so I don't really know much about string instruments.

Playing the violin is hard work, but some beautiful stuff can come out of it. Like Henrietta! I think it's a great idea!

My dad gave me a guitar while I visited him on my vacation so I'm going to start learning how to play that. Only thing wrong with it though is it has two loose strings that won't tighten up so I'm gonna have to get that fixed first.

I heard the violin is kind of hard to play, 'cause unlike the guitar it doesn't have any frets to help you know where to put your fingers, etc., and you have to rely solely on sound.

I play acoustic guitar, all classical, and I suck at it because I never have time to practice.

but then electric/acoustic guitar too =D i got a new electric a couple months ago..its awesome, but left me quite poor.

I play piano, violin, viola... I guess kinda self taught ocarina. :>

I played the tenor saxophone for 5 years and still playing it in school.
I played the violin for 5 years as well.
I played the guitar for 3 years.
I self-taught myself piano for almost 8 years now.

I am amazed to see that a lot of people in this forum play a lot of instruments.

I got a keyboard for my b-day! I'm learning to play it now. Do you know any good songs (with the sheet music please!) for beginners?
