Hey HC!
What would be the ultimate way of charging your body for a 2 days tournament of football? I guess no training and a lot of potatos would be one way, but what would you suggest? Cheers Nick |

pretty easy,I guess. 1st you have to understand the principle of emptying and refilling your glycogen (energy) stores. Energy itself is not stored but glycogen is converted to energy when needed. Glycogen stores are in the muscles, in the liver and in the brain! Obviously if you go on a 2 day exercise, the most probable thing to do is to snack in between games f.e. Don't overdue it keep to small protions or to liquids if the time is too limited before the next game. Make sure that you have quality food after each day with adequate parts of protein, carbs (low glycemic) and good fats (salmon f.e. or nuts). Eat maybe two dinners with smaller portions 2 hours apart and a good breakfast the next morning. If you get up too short before a game and have no time for breakfast make sure that you had some protein just before sleeping. Well, thats about it.

Nah, not necessarely potatoe chips since their high in transfat and offer little nutritional value. But fruits for example, oatmeal cookies, hell even dark chocolat (in moderation). Mueslibars is another good option, Power bars are shite - they just have too much sugars and chemie. Liquids would then be Gatorade or for longer breaks better drink icecold milk f.e. (has all nutrients)... I'm sure there is much more and remember drink buckets of water...
