Full Version
Athaithne Weyr is only a weyr by title, the pitiful excuse for a set of locations being their recent new home after having been driven out of their old. It consists of a vast natural cave network, one that starts in Tacaigh Hold, where it was discovered and mined for precious gems, and stretches halfway south through the currently explored territory. It has major entrances at Corraigh and Gaineamh holds, COrraigh used the cave network as storage and Gaineamh was another attempt at mining, before the prospect failed and the Hold turned to other means of surviving.

Due to space restrictions, the Weyr's functions were divided between two areas, a northern nexus and a southern nexus were over a hundred kilometers apart and required dragons to between to one another, but there were weyr clusters at both, and expiditions into the intermediary caverns established small supply rooms in case an underground trip had to be made. While the north-south run was vast, the east-west runs were only maybe a dozen kilometersand out from the nexus, even without betweening you could travel across the Weyr in a day easily, while stopping off and having a hearty lunch and rest at the nexus.

There are six side-runs that have very large exits, these exits contain many small pockets and side-chambers that have become dragon's weyrs. They are similar in that these weyr-chambers are all not too far inside the large exit 'room'. The Weyr is organized that each wing controls one, and that wing's riders live together in these large areas. There are around 90 chambers suitable for dragons to live in, with roughly fifteen to a branch, though this number varies anywhere between 9 at the smallest and 21 at the greatest.

Athaithne Weyr is a new organization, it was originally founded nine years after Liethleach's destruction and now has been around for two more. Before it was settled, the dragons lived in the coastal highlands to the west of Tacaigh, and it is from here many of the searches were conducted. This would explain the prevalence of savanna people in Athaithne's new ranks, and why they did not encounter many of the Rogue groups to the east of Seposita, or in Liath territory. This would soon prove to be an issue, when Seposita starts to compete with them to get at riders.
