We at Artifex are well aware of the many other designing teams that have come together to make their own expansion packs, and we are thrilled to see such cooperation and enthusiasm throughout the Zoo Tycoon community! We are all excited to see what comes out of each of these groups as well. However, we do have a few concerns regarding them. While the majority of our ideas are inspired by past things that Blue Fang has done, there are many more ideas that were ours and ours alone. Mimicking the major corporation that made Zoo Tycoon franchise is one thing, but to blatantly copy every single thing that we do makes us a little sad. We have put so much hard work and energy into this group that to see that everything we do is copied makes us wish that other groups had a little bit more imagination. This isn't to say that we want these groups to stop creating, far from it! Like stated earlier, we really enjoy that so many other people have come together to create such amazing things! But if Artifex was a real company, and another company did what we seem to see a few of the other groups doing, then that would be considered Copyright Infringement and thus would be considered illegal. As such, we hope that just because we are not a REAL company in the sense that we don't have an address where you can locate us, a building you can walk into, a phone number you can call, and we have no capital or profits, that you will not deprive us of the right to the stuff we can clearly claim as our own. We do not mind working alongside other such groups. But we would like to see something fresh and new at each website we visit, instead of a mirror image of our own.
