Almost entirely consisting of Island Excursions content, the winner of the laggiest zoo of the year, I now present:
PALM PARK

First, the Entrance:

On either side is a small artificial forest, filled with numerous exotic plants, such as the Rafflesia (a cast, as the real plant is so pungent that smelling it in large quantities is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large, gold brick), Rainbow Eucalyptus and the enormous Rattan.

Directly ahead lies the Cafe:

You can try a variety of foods, from hotdogs to freshly picked sugar cane. You can also admire the fountain featuring life-sized replicas of the beautiful (and highly edible) Mahi-Mahi and Pineapple Palms. Or you can go either right or left and continue on to the rest of the zoo.

On this tour we will go left first, because there's slightly more to see:

Our first enclosure houses a several dolphins, Hector's Dolphins to be exact:

Relatively new arrivals to Palm Park, when we began we had no more than five, but in just over a year the population doubled, and our Dolphins are some of our most successful inhabitants.

Our second exhibit, the Phillipines, is a small island featuring two species of herbivore:

Those animals are the Visayan Warty Pig and the Tamaraw, a large, endemic buffalo. The two, however, will soon become three, as we have two Visayan Spotted Deer on the way.

Our third exhibit is home to a herd of Sri Lankan Axis Deer:

A subspecies of the Axis Deer (also known as the Chital or Spotted Deer), the Sri Lankan Axis Deer are some of our oldest inhabitants and the population has boomed since. Splendid but docile, they are also surpisingly popular.

One of our largest islands and enclosures is New Guinea:

As many independent thinkers should observe, New Guinea is not one but three seperate exhibits, each containing a different creature.

To the left are the Spotted Cuscus:

New arrivals, they are still somewhat nervous and timid and have only just come out of the trees recently. At this point it is too early to find out about their wellbeing, although they seem to be in relatively good condition.

In the middle of the island dwells the most dangerous bird alive:

Our middle sector is home to a large number of Cassowaries. Although they are large, vibrant and, if you ask the right people, beautiful, the breeding season has just begun, and consequently both males and females can be expected to become increasingly aggressive, and consequently several Cassowaries are scheduled for release.

The third third contains several Dingiso:

A species of terrestrial tree kangaroo, this unfortunate paradoxical creature will now confuse and cause severe brain damage for all unprepared carbon-based life forms. Large, and little resembling the slender arboreal tree kangaroos, it is one of our oldest inhabitants, but despite this we have had relatively few offspring. Nevertheless, they seem content and can be easily found in piles of leaves and fruit.

That is all for now, but I do have plenty more images to share and enjoy.
Share And Enjoy!
