k so my ap us 1 midterm is tomorrow and um, i didnt study.
any quick study tips? usually i just wing it and use common sense, along with some good educated-guessing skills...and well, ive gotten this far.
flashcards dont work for me btw, especially since i have over 200 terms (people, places, documents, cases) to memorize.
am i screwed?

I know it is too late, but you should never not study for and AP US exam.
Take it from me, I rarely study for tests and quizzes but there is too much to know for a one night cram and then educated guessing the day of.
Still I would be curious to know your grade or even what you thought of the midterm.

Yep. That was a bad move on your part. You should always study for everything. No matter how well you know it. Base it psychologically- the brain needs constant reiteration of information in order to abosrob and remember it. Take it from someone who knows. I made the mistake of not studying for some of my mid-terms because I thought "I knew it all" and "would base it on educated guesses." Things didn't work out as planned. Therefore, its always good to review.

haha well its worked so far and i mean, usually when i study i ALWAYS over-analyze.
but yeahh this time i finished an hour and a half early (you get two and a half hours to do it) and i honestly had no idea how i did but i ended up getting a 77 without the curve, and like a kid that studied for three days straight got a 68 and another that studied for 8 hours got a 44. and like everyone wants to kill me now because i did better without studyingg haha.
lol so it was obviously an insane test, but yeahh 77 without the curve mean i atleast got a b- with, because last year she curved it 13 points.
so yeah...wish me luck? haha

whew okay.
haha so hopefully its a big curve, because she said our class on the whole did so bad that we might get a seperate curve, since we are period eleven and she sometimes forgets to teach us things, or remind us, that she tells the other classes.

Woah, eleven periods. They are definately squeezing the limits of how much info can be taught per period. But yeah, there should be a curve. I know that my APUSH teacher always does that. We actually have an 8 pt. curve for our current mid-terms, and thank God. It brought me to an A :).

Ah, curves - I fondly remember those. I've only had a grand total of about 2 tests curved in my entire collegiate career to this point.
gujubeleza - February 12, 2007 12:53 AM (GMT)
wow that sucks only 2 curves?
well yeahh thank god to my curve got a b without studying.
haha
hopefully this mkpd's grade evens the score out?

gujubeleza - March 14, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
