I had expected Obama to win the election after how disgruntled the nation grew with the current administration, but I certainly did not expect him to take so many normally Republican states.

Was anyone else surprised by this?

Yeah - I also expected him to win, and he did far better than I thought. I figured on it being a good deal closer than it actually was.
