Title: How do you stay focused?

(I think this goes here)
I usually blast music through my headphones to cancel out distractions, but that's not working too well anymore. Case and point I'm (supposed to be) doing two chapters of notes right now and I'm posting on this message board. Oh well. <_<

I used to be able to drown out distractions with music, and that still works occasionally, but usually I prefer a very quiet environment so that I have nothing to distract me from the task at hand.

I agree with Dimmick. What music I listened to and how loud I listened to it usually affected how I wrote for the better, but lately I have written much better with no music or any kind of potential distraction nearby.

If I sit in front of the computer or tv while trying to do notes or related assignments it takes me 3 times as long to complete them. The only way I can work now is by sitting in my room in silence with nothing but my book and highlighters.
You may also want to try a local coffee house. I found that the people and noises there keep me interested but not to a point where I'm distracted. Helps the boredom factor. Plus, you can get a couple of your favorite drinks, which makes it all more enjoyable.

Well, whenever you feel yourself drifting from your task at hand, then just stop what you're doing and stretch a bit while sitting in your chair. You feel refreshed and ready to go without even leaving the room, let alone your seat. :)
