Can this time period best be described as carefree or insecure?
Well, I am pretty sure there was nothing illegal about the new "free spirited AMerica." It was not really much of a protest in my opinion either so I can't really help you here.
Well, there was nothing insecure about it. We had just won WWI and become semi-isolationist. It was more carefree-new music, new writings, new dance and sexuality. You could even use the looming depression and the publics complete unawareness of it to say they were too carefree.
