Ask the librarian ? That sounded logic, logic enough to even be successful, but somehow Evelyn did not trusted herself to perform this casual act. It felt like some act of shyness, at first, but seriously, since when was she too shy to perform anything ? Well, it just presently seemed like a waste of time she did not cared to perform, and since she was already a little deceived for not finding anything about Walt Disney, if the librarian was to respond negatively about the wonderful little blue ones, then she just might loose it and scream out loud how much of a disgrace this library was. One of her green eyes twitched to the mental image of her potential outburst, and she responded slowly. '' Hmm, yeah... Nevermind. ''

She would definitely have to give up on that. Plus, If she was to enter her next class with Smurfs comics as her references, she had no doubt that most of her students would be insulted! Who could be that much struggling in her class that he would have to start with Smurfs characters ? Well, actually, she could picture herself shoving the comics on Mr. Dawson's desk. At this very thought, Evelyn mentally slapped herself - it was actually mean!

It wasn't like she had anything against the boy; he was just well mannered and respectful, how could you dislike him ? Well, he did looked like he was going to a funeral, each times he stepped into her classroom, but it wasn't something she could hold against him. Clearly, it just wasn't his subject, but he did try his best all the time, tough he would get pretty much angry at himself for his results, which he did not judged appropriates. Now, that temper actually reminded her of someone, who could potentially be standing at nothing but a few feets away from her.

Realising, after a few seconds, that she was still completely motionless and gazing at the bookshelf thoughtfully, Evelyn brought herself back on earth in the blink of an eye and her serious expression vanished to be instantly replaced by nothing else but a smile.

'' Well, I guess I'll just have to stick with the fat, text less one. '' She concluded with one last reproaching look at the bookshelf for not being of any help. Had Christian not been around, she would have been more than willing to even shake her fist threateningly at it in a 'we'll meet again!' style, but there he was, and therefore she simply controlled herself. She then made her way out of the book alley, which meant that she once again had to brush past her colleague. Darn those narrow library alleys!

Christian was sorry that he wasn't any help. Really, he was! He wanted to help Evelyn find her book, which he knew had to be somewhere in this library. The school wasn't so conservative as to not have books on the arts. There had to be in here somewhere. Christian still scanned the biography shelves, trying to find something that might be of use. No luck. As she debunked his 'ask the librarian' idea, he had to agree with her somewhat. He mentally pictured Evelyn going up to the librarian and sweetly asking for Smurfs comics. It would end up with someone feeling weird no matter how you looked at it-Christian's money was on the librarian. Oh well. It was a good idea in theory.

As Evelyn lamented about the fat book, Christian shrugged slightly. This was one of those moments where he had no clue what to say. Oh, sorry that you couldn't find the right book? That's what you get for trying to find a book about some obscure artist-guy? Sucks to be you? He knew that the last one wasn't right-that had to be something. Then how come the right words couldn't come to his head? Christian was feeling weirdly about Evelyn today-he found himself double-checking his words, then not caring what he had said, then double-checking his words again. He restrained a sigh. Life was bizarre. No order, no patterns, no sense of arrangement.

Then, Evelyn was up and brushing past him. Oh, she needed to get out. Whoops. Christian smooshed himself further into the bookshelf, trying to give her room. He could feel some of the books poking into his back-it kind of hurt, the fact that there were so many of them all poking viciously into his back. After Evelyn had pushed herself out of the narrow alley, Christian made his way through so that he was face-to-face with Evelyn, still keeping a hold on his book. "That was awkward," Christian muttered under his breath, as he tried to scratch at the spot on his back that a particularly painful book had pressed into with his free hand. It wasn't working-either his arms were too short or the spot was too low. He probably was making a fool of himself right now. Dammit. Christian stopped his futile scratching and brought his arm back to his side.

Alright, so she had managed to go trough a library safely, without anything such as a mental breakdown or attacks from those deadly serious books that were surrounding her. That was already one hell of a miracle in itself, and if you added to it the fact that she was holding one of those very books under her arm, you could just faint right there over such a grand amount of holiness. Evelyn felt awkward herself and she stared once again at the book with disbelief, and she turned around after making her way out of the alley, successfully. This was going to be written down in her mighty Evelyn's all time Records novel, and, surely, the fact that she had been handling something like a conversation with Christian would find itself along those lines.

Actually, their little sociable games were taking its toll and the woman wasn't feeling all that confident about it, anymore. It was nice having some sort of contact with him again, but awkward, not the least! Plus, all that was happening in a library, and she was down right ready to leave this place. It just wasn't working out, her very surroundings felt anything but welcoming and so she manoeuvred further ahead.

"That was awkward,"

Why she was being so unusually able to register everything he said, suddenly, and why they had to exchange such useless words was a complete mystery, and why Evelyn looked back at him with the certainty that she had to reply something was just a much greater one. It was just some random muttering, and yet she had managed to catch it and she was doing it again; torturing her mind, trying to find a thousand of side meanings to each one of his words! She just couldn't help but to notice that something was bothering him, even if she hadn't witnessed the said 'bothering' event. It was just in the way he could act and the way he moved, she had the weird habit to read that perfectly. One old and annoying habit...

'' Did a book hit you ? '' She grinned awkwardly. '' I knew they were evil. ''

God, now wasn't that totally the most random and useless comment ever placed in a conversation? Well, totaly her type of comments, actually...

Christian looked up, looking at Evelyn. Did a book hit him? Well, he kind of rammed into one. It was all his fault...he was trying to get out of her way! He slightly bit his lip, not really knowing what to say. Why did the universe decide to torture him today? That's what it was-the universe was being particularly nasty. He still had that awkward feeling when he talked to Evelyn, he found himself double and triple checking his words, and to top it all off books were attacking him. Did he deserve being attacked by items? He didn't think so.

"No, it didn't hit me," he said, rolling his eyes. He kept the annoyed look on his face for a few seconds, before smiling slightly. He couldn't stay annoyed at Evelyn for long. "It poked me." And that was the gospel truth. Hitting hurt more. Still, he wanted to keep the game of 'humorous barbs and fun joke time' up for a bit longer. It certainly was less awkward than their previous game of stand around and look stupid. "Obviously, something up there wants me to stay away from books for a while," he said, pointing towards the ceiling. Meeting Evelyn was nice, but the awkwardness and random attacks by library materials just weren't that fun.

Christian idly took a glance at his watch. His eyes widened a bit at the time. It was later than he thought. Still, he wasn't doing anything-which was even more surprising. He usually had things to do. Furrowing his brow, Christian thought. Well...he could get those papers graded. That would be good. The papers had to get graded some time or another. "It's getting kind of late," he said, looking up and out of a window. It was still sunny outside. Okay, so it wasn't THAT late. Still, it was getting sort of late.

"Obviously, something up there wants me to stay away from books for a while,"

'' How harsh! '' Evelyn said, honestly, wrinkling her nose to his words as if to show some sympathy to his doom. As far as she was concerned, there was indeed something up there that wanted them both to stay away from this dreadful place. She never came here, and when she decided to, she had to practically... bump into him? If that wasn't odd Karma or some holy doom, then she didn't know what it was. Christian's next statement caused her eyebrows to furrow.

"It's getting kind of late,"

Now that was some weird way to put it. Was their encounter so awkward that he had to pull off some high school excuses to escape ? Well, maybe that wasn’t what he purely meant. She was well placed to know that Christian could have some very busy days, at work. That was okay, tough. She was getting relatively dizzy, herself, for entertaining such a long conversation with him, after all this time. It felt utterly odd, yet right in a way- not that she would admit it out loud.

'' Oh, I guess. '' She let out casually, glancing out the window furtively. '' Late or not, I've spent too much time in this place for my own sake! '' She declared, shrugging one of her shoulders and chuckling lightly. It was a nice way to put it, indeed. She just couldn't bear this overly silent and serious place anymore.

With that said, she gave Chrsitian one last look before she made her way to the counter. It wasn't fair goodbyes, since she expected that he would do the same, for he two had to get his books registered before he could take them away with him. She knew that much about libraries, as surprising as it seemed. It would've been relatively normal to see her walk away from the establishment, her books in hand like she owned them completely- but no. Evelyn had a head on her shoulders. Today, at least...

The Art teacher ignored the surprised look the librarian shot her before registering her books, and she thanked her politely when she handed them back, with a big smile.
