One of the rare items that I guarantee will be making a comeback,
The problem with IFS on road, is that you need to control the travel of one wheel vs. the other wheel or you get into dangerous territory with body roll or just one wheel following where it wants to go without the other one doing the same. It gives a real squirly effect that wants to slingshot ya one way or the other, The combat to this is our swaybar, it is great for on road High speed travel but seriously limits our offroad performance. As an IFS truck if one wheel wants to go up, the other needs to stay independent for full "Flex"
2007fj found a cure to this. put a beefy link on the passenger side while making a fully and easily disconnectable arm on the drivers side. On a straight axle, you remove both links, but on ours this works like a hungry hooker. Cheap and effective. Here are some pics of mine.
this is a pic of the link quick disconnect and the 2 bolt arm that comes off.

As for the other side that stays on the upgraded link is a MUST, even if you dont do a disco, I recently snapped a stock link which in turn dropped down and ripped my CV boot to shreds, resulting in a full axle replacement. the link to the BEEFY link upgrades is here.
They have left and right greasable links for the front and rear for 24 bucks! toyota wants 89 bucks for the stock weak ones!!

the beef are the DEEZA, 4th and 5th ones down for the front, and search the site for the rest.
As for the CV axle, toyota wanted 570 bucks for a new one, I got one from NAPA for 63 bucks with a one year warantee. I could go into that too but I would need a new thread. Message or call me if you have anny questions, If I havnt broke it and fixed it yet, it probably cant be broke. laugh.gif

Mike,

I really like these, but the price is too high. He wants $399, not including shipping. Plus, I have to ship my old sway bar back to him as a core. I'm saving my mod money for something bigger. Maybe next year...

I understand what you're saying about the handling. Billy feels the same way. I may just try to remove the front bar just to see how it is to me. If anything I can always reinstall it later.
Manny runs w/o the front bar and he seems to like it. I guess it's a matter of personal preference, I guess.

I hear ya, I may have actually got the last one from him anyway, I actually bought the demo model and had it coated red, and shipped for 355. He was chargin way too much for em thats why I was waiting too, but when he said he was done I called him up asap. They may be coming back soon though. possibly from another manufacturer. wink.gif
But in any case, check out the link I posted for the heavy duty greasable sway bar links, I'm tellin ya you dont wanna break one of these. Even though I found the CV axle for so cheap I had to buy about 300 in tools to do it, and it took me and a neighbor 4 to 5 hours. Not fun at all.

I hear ya Mike. I pulled my front sway bar today to avoid just such a problem. biggrin.gif

My passenger side end link was leaking grease, too. Looks like the little boot got torn. rolleyes.gif

I took it out for a spin and it didn't feel too bad to me. Time will tell.

Yeah I think it is a couple things, first of all personal preference, second weight on the vehicle, then distance/speed traveled. The first 2 are pretty variable between person and their buildup, but as for the 3rd, You all got it good with the longest drive being like an hour. LOL

Another thing would be an annoying clunking sound caused by the sway bar moving and contacting the springs. Like others have mentioned, the stock keepers suck! I could move one of mine along the sway bar by hand.

Sure enough, sway bar out, noise gone. smile.gif I'm trying to drive it around enough to make my own choice. So far, it's not bad.

You should be fine as long as ya aint doin 90 down the Pali. LOL Yeah I chopped them stock rings off and bolted on some beefy collars. Still managed to snap a link, dunno how, the other side was fine and there was no evidence of movement on the collor, weird. Or weak rather. LOL
