Gender: Female
Age: Mid twenties
Birth date: January 31, 1983
Height: 5’9
Weight: 148lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Greenish
Ethnicity: Caucasian

Appearance Notes: Minette has the classic looks of the French belle – pale skin, dark hair and a softness about her. That is where the similarities end, since Minette is nowhere near the stereotypical French maiden. In fact, she’s more of a femme fatale than anything else and with the temper to back it up. Minette has rounded curves, a thin middle and a large bust. Working out every day has allowed her to stay slim and virtually eat whatever she wants. She has her father’s handsome good looks tempered by her mother’s femininity and beauty.

Minette dresses in a way that is seductive while actually modest some of the time, though she can and will dress to be drop-dead seductive when she has to. She favours tight clothes, for the simple reason of mobility and is almost always found in pants unless it’s a special occasion. She prefers easy to move in clothes, sleeveless things or halter necks. Most of it is black or scarlet, since that is her main colour scheme and always co-ordinates. Around her neck is a pendant symbolising her guild, fastened with a leather strap that she never takes off. She always wears a trench coat.

Citizenship: Citizen of the United States [no criminal record, as of yet.]
Birthplace: New Orleans, Lousiana
Marital Status: Single, previously engaged.
Occupation: Thief
Group Affiliation: Thieves Guild of New Orleans
Education: No formal education. All education provided by the Thieves Guild
Resources: Poor, relies on her own earnings as well as resources from the Guild.

Costume Specifications: A tight black catsuit with combat boots and finger-less gloves, always worn under a black trench coat.
Equipment: Bo staff, thieving equipment, stealth gear, throwing knives, taser, cigarettes, laptop, voice decoder and PDA palm pilot.
Transportation: Heavily customised motorbike, lovingly restored by hand.

Special Abilities
Power Source: Genetic Mutation

Physical Powers:
Catalytic control
Power Level:
Skill Level:
Detailed power description:
Minette has the ability of catalytic control. Basically, this power means that she can manipulate and/or control chemical reactions. This includes speeding up or slowing down chemical reactions at will. She can, for example, increase or decrease the energies emitted or drained in such reactions. For example, she could increase the heat, emitted by exothermic reactions like oxidation; she could also increase the chilling effect of endothermic reactions. She could also do things like stopping iron from dissolving in acid or causing steel to rapidly transform into rust.

Some of the things Minette is capable of include causing chemical reactions that are normally impossible, knocking out self-powered machinery by stopping the reactions that generate their power, inducing suspended animation in a living target by stopping all biochemical activity, incapacitating living targets by inducing nausea, collapsing a target by hastening the forces of decay, forming compounds by simply mixing materials together and not needing heat or special conditions, baking without an oven and more.

Toxin Control
Power Level:
Skill Level:
Detailed power description:
Bane can also create and/or control certain toxins. This is mental in application but termed as a physical power, since it can occur by thought or by touch. This power involves turning certain compounds into poisons or toxins, in essence converting them. For example, she could choose to convert normal air into mercury. However, anything she is converting must have at least part of a chemical makeup in it for her power to work. This involves more concentration than her main power and she must be in the vicinity of the area or thing she is converting to activate the power. Acid is the only chemical she has trouble with, as it involves the most concentration and is not the easiest thing to control.

Toxic Touch
Power Level:
Skill Level:
Detailed power description:
This is by far her most untrained skill, the power to impart poisons or toxins into a human body by touch alone. The toxins themselves are not overly potent and will not kill immediately. The amount of poison/toxin released is distributed according to body mass and the mass of the human is directly related to the potency of the substance. A skinny person, therefore, will succumb quicker than say the Juggernaut. She uses this more as an escape power and must wear a belt to control this power.

Fighting Skills: Minette has been offensively trained since a very young age in self defence. She is known as the best knife fighter in both Guildes, a title she has defended successfully since she was twelve. She has also trained herself to use the Bo Staff effectively, as well as being professionally trained in pole fighting and meditation.

Non-combat Skills: Cooking, languages [speaks Standard, Canadian, Acadian and Cajun French fluently as well as fluent in Italian, Spanish, local French dialects and Basque], tracking, stealth, thievery and is a mean poker player.

Notes: At first glance, Minette acts much like her younger brother Gambit. They both like to flirt, like to drink and have fun. But deep down, Minette is a lot more outgoing and rational that Gambit. She has a short temper, but prides herself on her strict sense of family. Betrayal of that family bond means she will kill you and make it slow and painful, but she has a much more level head on her shoulders that Gambit does at times. Minette sticks by her beliefs and is caring towards others, though she does have the same sarcastic wit and easily ignited temper as most of her family. Always willing to poke fun at herself to get a laugh, she has a sharp tongue and doesn't tolerate liars or people who big note themselves. Always willing to talk, she is easy to talk to when you have gained her trust.

But despite all that, she has a high degree of tolerance to injuries and pain. She will not wilt under pressure and will never reveal anything under torture or threat of death. Calm and level-headed, not prone to hysteria or hopelessness, she prides herself on being able to withstand anything and her calculating mind. She loves Gambit above all else but is not immune to knocking him down a few pegs.

Goals: To kill Bella and end the Guid Wars
Weaknesses:
- Toxic touch is a weak area of her powers, as the power can only be activated by touch and the toxins are not potentially strong enough to kill. She is also not trained to her full capacity and this also contributes to power weakness. Thais is highly sensitive to mental attacks, since her natural mental shields are not potentially strong.

- Minette is not immune to chemical substances unless she first binds them under her control. The longer it takes to fully control that substance, the more hurt it will bring her. She is NOT immune to chemical reactions that she has not controlled. Acid is the only chemical she has trouble with, as it involves the most concentration and is not the easiest thing to control.
- Minette has a short temper, and she smokes.

History: Marie Adelaide, or Minette, as she was immediately referred to, was born in the middle of the feuding war between the Assassins Guild and her own Thieves Guild of New Orleans. She doesn’t remember her mother, as she died of complications a few days after her birth and she was raised by a succession of nannies including an African-American faith healer called Tante Mattie and her distant relative Mama Cece. For decades, the two Guildes had been fighting over the most trivial of things and also the preference of a woman known only as Candra who was the overseer of both Guildes.

Growing up with three older boys in the family, Minette quickly became somewhat of a tomboy and learned very quickly that her father, Jean-Luc wanted her to be as able as any male Thief. From the time she could walk, the pretty girl child was taught how to ride horses and motorbikes, fighting, archery, strategy, business skills and marksmanship among other things. The Thieves Guild are readily hostile to outsiders so not much of her education is know, suffice that it was very structured and even advanced. She also took dance and gymnastics lessons as well as etiquette and decorum to make sure she grew up as a ‘proper’ lady.

One day, when Minette was younger, her father introduced her to four people that would impact her life in very different ways – Julien and Belladonna Boudreaux, Candra and a tiny baby with strange red and black eyes. Explaining that this was to be her new baby brother, Jean-Luc made her promise that she would always look after him before disappearing with the child. Candra, it was said by the other Thieves, took an unnatural interest in the girl but did nothing for the moment. But Julien and Belladonna Boudreaux were different.

From the moment they set eyes on each other, Bella and Minette hated each other. They loathed the other, refusing to be friends and even going so far as to get into a cat fight with pulling of hair and biting. This hatred continued through their growing up, turning the two girls into bitter rivals. But Julien was a bit older, and kind of cute. Unknown to either of them, the two patriarchs of the Guildes had arranged for Julien and Minette to be wed in a plan to unite the two warring Guildes in one. The fact that the two liked each other, that didn’t hurt either. In fact, Julien became some what of a protector to the younger girl and would often serve as her amuser during long boring meetings when the two had to meet.

When Minette was around twelve years of age, Remy became fully adopted by her father after trying to pick his pockets and moved into their ancestral home. From the moment they met, the two were inseperable and went everywhere together, forming a bond beyond anything they could have imagined. This left Julien somewhat on the backburner, which may have contributed to the hatred he and Remy shared later on in life. The two hated each other, and when Remy fell for Belladonna, the two siblings had a real fight. Minette still refuses to accept that they got married. Indeed, ass Bella Donna and Remy were in love with each other anyway, their fathers intended to have them marry to ensure lasting pace between the two guilds just like Julien and Minette. The teenagers were reluctant, feeling they were too young, but agreed to marry when they turned eighteen.

When Minette was about seventeen, her younger brother and her cousin Etienne were sent off to Spain to complete trials in order to become Thieves Guild members. Minette had already completed hers successfully two years ago, stealing a precious vase from the New York Museum. On the mission, Remy, still learning about his own powers that had manifested earlier, ended up throwing charged cards at some of the guards. Both boys fell into the ocean as they tried to escape, but while Remy was rescued by a fishing trawler, Etienne drowned. The news of his death hit Minette hard, as it did her father and Remy. This put the wedding of Bella and Remy off for a few months.

Finally, to the disgust of Minette and Julien, Remy and Bella got married one fine spring day. Enraged, Julien challenged Remy to a duel. Remy won,
killing Julien and, although he had nothing to be guilty of, the Guilds demanded he be banished. Remy departed, not even asking his new wife if she wanted to join him. He left Minette behind to deal with both the consequences of him fleeing and the death of her fiancée, putting an end to her wedding plans for later that year. It took her months to get over his death, but her father had aged much more than normal due to Remy’s flight from home.

The rivalry within the Guilds continued to get worse after Remy’s departure, especially when her older brother Henri married an outsider named Mercy. It was then that Candra began to reacquaint herself with the girl she had met long ago, inviting her to stay at her mansion in Granada [unknown to anyone the site of Etienne’s unjustified death]. Leaving home for one or two years, she returned with strange mutant powers and put them to good use against the Assassins Guild. She even managed to poison Bella during a recent spat.

Intrigued, and receiving new information about one Remy LeBeau, Minette gladly volunteered to go on a mission to find her long lost brother.

Tell me, dearest one, why do those of the night never come into the blinding shades of day?
To have such a darkness around them...perhaps it scares the daylight away?

I fear for life itself...
