Title: simple glass border

android-x - June 7, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
Hey, Wondering how to make those cool, yet simple glass borders? Ill show yah how. :)

First start out with whatever graphic you want. Ill be using a simple 150x150 avatar.

Now, for starters you need to make a straight black line along the outside edges of the image. (Mine is a box shaped line) then another set of lines along the inside. About 4-5 pixels in.

Now select the area inbetween the two sets of lines and color it whie with your paint brush. But be careful, you have to remember to set the opacity of your brush to 50% or else youll make the whole area white.

Thats it! But to make it look even cooler, read on.

Select the border you just put on. Do this by selecting the entire image and then deselecting the image inside the white border. Then, create a background shadow of any strength you want. Repeat the bg shadow if necessary and it should look like this.
