Title: Is Your Furby Sleepy?
Dr Rob - January 30, 2007 05:42 PM (GMT)
I wanted to have a discussion about sleepy Furby as it seems to be one of the biggest problems and although I have found a way to fix it manually I was wondering if anyone had any techniques they use? When you want them to be quiet they keep on going and then when you want to play with them they won't wake up! Sods law I suppose....

I always shake my halloween furby while upside down and he usually wakes up after a few tries. If i dont do it right he will fall back to sleep. Oh yeah how do you fix a sleepy furby? Is it easy since i already performed 5 successfull furby surgerys. Of course i can open up and skin a furby :D

It is one of the most difficult problems to fix! It is a programming error which means that it is not completely fixable. However if the Furby has a motion sensor issue sometimes just resoldering this will make Furby wake up. The wires are so tiny though!!
I have no idea why Furby was programmed to fall straight back to sleep. I think it might have been so that if Furby falls over in the middle of the night it wouldn't wake up.

Is it really a programming thing. I also thought like if you dont play with your furby for a long time it will think you dont want to play so it will sleep again. I have a whole bunch of furbys that sleep all the time.

Yeah, I've got a furby that refuses to do anything but sleep. And ohmigosh I thought that I had my E-Day in deep sleep mode last night and so I was cuddling him in bed and then I fell asleep and at like 1:30 in the morning, I rolled over onto him and he woke up...which, of course, woke ME up which is why I kept almost falling asleep during my SAT prep course. >.<

Lol. ;) sure that was the reason..... :P
I think it is slightly inbuilt into some Furbys but it seems to be a programming error.
