Alright, so, it has come to the attention of... pretty much everyone, that with the renaming and reorganizing of the paint pot so that it is now named "acts of war" we need a new banner.

So, the first competition on Acts of war, will be one for the best banner that fits the name.

dates-

Submit all entries to me, Ults, between march 1st and march 20th

Voting will begin on March 21st and end March 29th

Results will be posted between March 30th and March 31st



Rules-

You have to make a banner capable of being displayed on paint pot

The entry should be sized around 2x9. The width can be anything reasonable but the maximum height is 2.

The entry must follow the basic guidelines set out in the corresponding thread. (No lewd, profane, racist themes etc etc...)

The entry must have to do with "acts of war" and must display said name.

In order to keep the overall look and feel of this forum the same, I'm making a new rule that most not all of the colors in your banner must be these colors. 6C3E35 (This is the main color of the forum) and 3E201A (This is the secondary color of the forum). For more information scroll down to the 13th post.


Get to makin those banners folks. wink.gif

No it doesn't have to be since we cater to 40k and Fantasy. Anything that would go well with the forum is fine.

By 40k I actually meant Warhammer in general, sorry ohmy.gif phrased that badly.

What I meant, is like does it have to relate to Games Workshop.





Actually, that just gave me a pretty good idea....I don't know if I'll be able to pull it off though. Since for some reason I can't upload images into my pallet in GIMP, it's hard for me to add exterior images in.

728x90 is a good size. I say we use that. (It's GIMPs recommended size for banners)

hahaha.

2x9 is the measurement i got from Law, and since most measurements are in the hundreds, I'm gonna assume its centimeters.



somebody give me a visual on a 728x90 banner please and I'll see if that works.

yeah that will work well. A bit taller probably wouldn't hurt if you need to fit something on, but thats a good size banner.

Yes, this post does have a point. Don't start doubting your Admin so soon!

To help people out, I went out and go the color codes for the main and secondary colors. In order to keep the overall look and feel of this forum the same, I'm making a new rule that most not all of the colors in your banner must be these colors.

The Light Red/Brown of the main screen: 6C3E35 (This is the main color of the forum)

Just measured the ideal size of the banner and it comes out to 12.5" wide and 2-3" high. Good luck everyone!

Well, Law, I don't think you can use inches when you make a new banner. And I'm not sure if GIMP uses color codes, either :/
