Has anyone been keeping up with this anime? If you haven't you've been missing out on, probably, the best anime currently airing. The first season is over and the 2nd season is about half way through. I know some of us have watched this, but for the new members who don't know about it...go to Bleach Exile and download it or just use bittorent.

The world it takes place in is a world where the Britannia Empire never falls apart. The British Empire conquers most of the world using a form of Mecha known as Knightmare Frames.

The main character, Lelouch, lives in Area 11 (Japan) with his disabled sister, Nunally. At start of the series he gains this ability to use a power called Geass. With this power he plans to find out who killed his mother, bring about the end of the current Britannian rule and make a world where his sister can peacefully live in. Of course, there are some bumps along the way which make the series all the greater.

Think of this as a much better version of Death Note, only with Mecha instead of Shinigami. The mind games, tactical layouts, etc are what really make each episode great.

So, yeah, Code Geass it really a phenomenal series. Got watch it...now.

What does this Geass do, exactly?

It rewires the mind of those looking into his eyes to follow his commands, or something of the sort. As is, it is a limited one use per person, and other things like that.

However, It’s been a while since I watched the first part, and I’m waiting until there are more episodes out before downloading the sequel, so my memory of the mechanics of the ability aren’t all that fresh.

Still, it’s not so much the ability itself, but the strategic way in which he uses it that make it so effective, me thinks.

Code geass...I like it. But there are a lot of inconsistencies in part 2. I'm not good with my words so I'll copy and paste from another forum which is my thoughts on the anime:

QUOTE (Mechalich)
In season one, Lelouch used his geass to gain tactical advantages no ordinary commander could ever possess, and combined this with his extremely high level of natural skill to achieve seemingly impossible things. That was all well and good. This second season has been absurd

QUOTE (Saan)
And an ice boat is an insane idea. I'd understand if it was something like a Chinese experiment but a for a block of ice to show up capable of holding a million people to show up out of nowhere is shit.

QUOTE (Kuromaru)
But look at the newest addition: Jeremiah. I mean, perhaps after so many defeats at Zero's hand he developed an odd admiration but they need to elaborate further. We now know he was assigned to protect Marianne and respected her but it felt like it came out of left field. I can buy his reasons for joining Lelouch but I wish these had been hinted at or referenced earlier (Who knows, perhaps they were. I have a horrible memory.)

Really, sums up my only complaints of code geass. Part 2 hasn't been as good as part 1.

Thats a pity, then. I've been looking foward to the second season for a bit. dry.gif

I think I saw like one episode, and it wasn't too outstanding for me. The guy with the helmet threw me. I was like 'Is this a new Gundam or something?'. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure it wasn't the first episode, and so I doubt I'll really get into it. sad.gif Nice animation though.

If you saw the helmet it isn't the first episode.

There is a good reason behind the helmet, so you might want to start at the beginning to understand them better. After all, why would you want to be recognized as the leader of the resistance when you also attend the most prestigious school in the country?

It’s especially good when the King of the Empire you want to overthrow is your father.

Geass is pretty decent, but I don't know why this is in the Death Note discussion folder. Unless someone is going to whip out the Death Note/Code Geass comparison picture.

Because a while back we figured we didn't need the Death Note forum anymore since the anime and manga are complete. It was changed to discussion, but the subtitle under it wasn't.
