Calling all experts. I currently run a 2.4GHZ Pent 4 processer, 1gig ram and nvidia GForce 6600GT graphics card. Run all my games from an external hard drive.

Question is, is it worth upgrading processer? Will it make thing run any faster? Every time I play BF2 I get connection problems and the thing seems slow to load - My internet is deutch tellecom but going back to UK in Feb and will get a 6mb connection

Also being experiencing the slow connection problems - advice - if you have the dosh - new system, if not you need another gig of ram and perhaps a faster GPU!!

if it was me - i would spend the dosh on a newer GFX Card....

like a 7800GTX, you will notice a hell of a difference.

I did something foolish and bought an Alienware pc when I was pissed... 3.2 duo processors. 2 Gig ram, Dual 6800GT graphics cards. In a purple case that glows in the dark... Just paid the b'st'rd off. Won't be doing that again in a hurry. To be honest with the tinterweb connection, I'm running on 512k and it works pretty good with no lag. I think that is probably down to the 2gig ram.

Thanks for all responses so far. Im thinking that graphics should be ok, but maybee upgrading ram and processor may be way forward. If Im running 2.3 processor, could I lob a 3 gig processor in the same motherboard?

Save your cash and buy a decent pc - getting into the upgrade game is a pain the in ass. Look at me I just bought a second 7800GTX for SLI - wish I hadnt now. Wish I just bought a better CPU...ARGHH UPGRADE GAME!
