Haven't bought anything new lately, but I really considering trading my Marshall TSL60 and Epi LP Studio for a Gibson LP Raw Power.

You don't like your Marshall? Try to find an older JCM 800 model, or a Randall RG model. There are a lot on ebay! I'm not really into Les Pauls unless they are set up right. For some reason I can't shred on those. I'll admit though, you can get deep, rich, and warm tones. I guess it's just a matter of getting used to playing one. Every guitar is different.

I can't play fast leads, so no shredding for me. I actually have been playing my Strat a lot more, just wondering if the money is worth it for the Gibson. I see someone locally is selling a LP of the week for $1000, looks nice.

As for the marshall it is just too buzzy for me. I like the smooth overdrive of the XXX and would use my TS9 or DS1 for less gain.

You can't go wrong with the Peavey XXX. I've heard nothing but good things about those amps. I'm always craving new amps, tones, guitars, and effects. It's a NEVER ending addiction! Check out that LP... you might really like it!

video demo of a used fender champion 600 combo amp w/ 6inch speaker. yes it is small, but when recording, small can be good. i bought it to take on road trips. its clean tone is way better than my epiphone valve jr (which is modded into the high gain relm).

Im just barley meeting those. You get this "clipping" when in use. You can go in and adjust to take away or reduce the clipping.
And in recording Im getting the same thing.
Updates from VOX, Seems to be pretty poor. Been on the forum and ALOT of people are having problem with the update. So Im tossed up on if it was a good investment or not.

Was looking at the LINE 6 POD STUDIO interfaces. The requirements are alot less, So I might be trolling through IckBay and scoop up a used one. (just not in the mood to buy or beef up me PC just yet)

Those Line 6 Pods are supposed to be great and easy to use for recording!

just got a sure sm57 and a nady rsm-2 ribbon mic. the sm57 is an industry standard and i find they are a little shrill for recording to digital without mic tube preamps or analog recording gear. but i just happened to pick up the nady on a whim, and boy is it warm!! makes the digital sound much better...i used it to record the soloing over lynch's "tunnel of thighs"

they retail for $189 but found mine on ebay gently used for $89. there are mods for it too (taking out some screens and protective stuff and putting cotton in the body to reduce standing waves)...whatever! sound good now, maybe later i will mod it. and this thing is huge!

Awesome!!! I just listened to your track. The guitar tone does sound warm! I'll have to keep my eyes open for one of those. I'll bet the Randall would sound killer!
