John, remember that info Eddie Trunk had about George and Don talking again on VH1 classic. I found the source through e-mail and here is the some of the interview.

Awesome! Glad you found it and posted it!! thumbup.gif

I'm not sure if you've heard this one of GL, but it's pretty damn good! You'll love the interviewer who keeps calling him "dude"! G also rips into Don a little. Check it out...

John, that was the best George Lynch interview ever LOL. He seemed to be in a great mood that day and was funny as hell. He really does seem to hate the 80's and even the stuff he played on. Anyhoo, he also mentioned that encounter with Don and his bag full of drugs LMAO!! Can you imagine Don having the balls to ask George to do a tune on Hell To Pay. Well, actually it is Don were talking about.

Glad you liked the interview! I told ya it was good "dude"! laugh.gif I'm really not sure if he was joking around about the 80's or serious. That's one thing about G, you NEVER know if he's joking. However, I tried to get him to join this board about 3 times already and he still hasn't. Maybe he really does hate 80s metal! haha.gif I'll have to tell him it's not ALL about the 80's. It's just the damn name we stuck with! wink.gif

Cool, with George's sense of humor maybe he will join as Don Dokken or his famous Lynch Mob incognito touring name (gayblacknazibikersforchrist).

That is true LOL. George, what a crazy bastard naughty.gif

John, I am getting the the vibe there is no new Lynch Cd on the horizon. Honestly bro, I can remember him saying hundreds of times "I am working on a new cd, or a new project" and nothing gets released. I remember in 2002 he was working on an instrumental cd tentatively called "Mr Scary's Mousetrap" and it was supposedly to have Zakk Wylde on it. What the hell happened? I think George is very spontaneous and does whatever he feels at any given moment. I hope I am wrong and the new disc is killer.

I think the music is probably there, but G maybe a perfectionist when it comes to actually laying down the tracks and he wants to wait until he can devote all his time to it. He got the dojo thing started and it perhaps became a bigger deal than he thought at first? Anyway, between the dojo, clinics, personal appearences, designing new equipment, etc, it may be taking him longer than he intended to get around to focusing soully on the new cd.

Just my 2 cents, but I hope he will surprise us soon!

Great points Shellie! He has been busy. wink.gif As a matter of fact he may be Gerry's guitar tech on his westcoast tour with Andrew (who is G's tech). We'll see something new soon gang, if GL doesn't keep getting sidetracked. laugh.gif I'm sure the music is there and waiting to get the final touches soon.

Check out this thread his tech Gerry started...

Gerry and Andrew tour dates

This month's addition of Guitar World (Slash on the cover) has an article about ESP guitars featuring George Lynch,Kirk Hammett, and Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom. George recalls the origination of his first Kamikaze that resulted in a trip to ESP while in Japan (Dokken Tour 86) searching for a neck. His former guitar tech and good friend Matt Masciandaro is also interviewed about why George chose the Kami body and the reasoning behind the design (pickups, wood, etc...). Yah, I know what your thinking!! It's about goddamn time George was in the magazine and you would be right. (Pg 74 for Lynch)

Here's another heads up guys if you want to see George at Guitar Clinics at Sam Ash stores. The clinics are sponsored by Randall and ESP. Here are the dates and locations. Not near me but maybe some of you Lynchaholics can make the trip. (This is also in the new Guitar World on pg 115)

May 18 Chicago

May 21 Columbus music.gif John, this is prob Ohio. near cleveland ?

May 23 Charlotte

May 24 Nashville

May 29 Tampa

May 30 Orlando

May 31 Ft. Lauderdale

June 3 San Antonio

June 5 Las Vegas

June 6 Ontario (problably my only chance) rock.gif

See... I told ya this guy is always getting sidetracked! laugh.gif Not only is he going to be Gerry's guitar tech on his tour, but more clinics? It looks like the CD will take even longer now! At least he's getting in the spotlight more! As far as Columbus goes, that is south of me (maybe a 1 1/2 hour drive). I live on the Northcoast near the lake. smile.gif I might go though to harass him and take some pics with him! I just hope he doesn't ask me to jam with him because I always freeze up!!! haha.gif

And yes bro, Andrew Freeman is his current vocalist! wink.gif

Cool Bro!!! I hope you make it up there and bring a camera thumbup.gif
I might hit the Ontario show as I am 10 minutes from the Canadian border but I don't yet know what Sam Ash store he will be at.

The New Cd? Really doesn't look promising as George is really earning that free? gear LOL. You and Shellie are dead on about this. He's just too damn busy right now to focus on anything else. drink.gif

That was a good one bro! thumbup.gif I thought this was interesting...

KNAC.COM: Could you ever see a point where that is going to have to change?
LYNCH: Uhhmm. I like other types of music. Like I said, I’m a blues player. I could do that and enjoy it, but I’ve got another ten years of fuckin’ fight left in me. At some point it’s all gonna fall apart, but I’m in a race with time here. There is a little desperation there, but me being desperate and pushing things harder isn’t necessarily going to make anything better any quicker. It all works in cycles. You get a certain amount of energy for a certain amount of time, and when the opportunity is there, you’ve got to hit it hard and then kind of lay back.
