Yes, I am so on this!! I liked White Zombie better myself but Rob Zombie is the sh*t too! I've seen both (WZ & RZ) they put on a really great theatrical show as well!!Last time I saw Rob Zombie I was in front of the stage at the Electric Factory, in Philly The guitarist had this clear, acrylic, hollow guitar that had a liquid inside that looked like blood that swooshed back & forth as he played. They also had Zombie Go-Go Cheerleaders on stage with all kinds of neat props . I can't remember exactly but I think Rob Zombie came out on stage through the mouth of this huge head of this evil looking dude prop. It was bad-ass!!They also had this 10yr. old fan, a young boy, come on stage & play drums with them. He was SO excited and he was pretty darn good too if I remember correctly. I like anything theatrical and if Horror is mixed in too...Awesome!!! Cool Lisa Thanks, ~Chris |

I've never been to the Electric Factory. I don't get to go to many concerts any more aside from Trans-Siberian which we go to every year. We take our daughter (Rachel) and she's become a fan, too. Sadly, we're not going this year.
I think I'm more upset about it because she enjoys going so much and I hate disappointing her. -------------------- |

The Trans- Siberian Orchestra is COOL! Does Rachel play an instrument? Aww, I'm sorry you won't be going It's nice to have traditions like that...We used to go to Wanamaker's every year to see the Light show at Christmas time, also the Christmas Carol display (w/ the animated life-like figures), saw Santa, shopped at the Gallery and then had lunch at the Crystal Tea Room. Those are some of the most fondest memories I have of time spent with my Nanny. I hear ya, I don't get to see too many concerts myself these days...other than some local friends/shows. But if GL comes around with a Dokken reunion (??) or with the Lynch Mob...I am SO there!! The Electric Factory is pretty cool, a smaller venue (which I actually prefer myself) I also saw Evanescence there too, I had a great seat in the bar area of the top floor like dead center. My BF & I got to meet Amy & the guys afterwards. She was a really sweet girl, very humble... ~Chris |

Evanescence - I love that band! I heard they got back with the orig. git player?? But .. how come you guys aren't going to TSO this year VG?
Rob Zombie is playing his annual Halloween show in Phoenix. I think it's mostly sold out already. Though i'm not much of a fan myself. I've heard his live show is pretty wild. I think I saw White Zombie & the Ramones years ago. Ever heard of Thrill Kill kult? I saw their show it was insane.. Jesus on the cross w/ a phallus and a nun dressed up in bondage came out and performed fell**io on Jesus and he shot out fake blood on everyone- holy sh*T! |

Rob Zombie on Halloween would be a cool show to see. Dag, I thought GWAR with Phallus in Wonderland was pretty sacrilegious but that Thrill Kill Kult sounds like it takes the cake! I am not familiar with them but if they are anything like GWAR or even Marilyn Manson...it's just a gimmick, a character, GWAR are a bunch of theatrical players from some New York school (kinda like Fame?) and actually Marilyn Manson is a highly intelligent/ intellectual dude if you ever had the chance to hear him speak. Musicians & Artists~~a bunch of flakes and weirdos...including me |

Ok, I have lots of responses to leave here!!
Chris - TSO was turning into a tradition!! Hopefully next time we'll be taking David as well. No, Rachel doesn't play guitar, or any other instrument. She's just not interested yet. But check this out - See pics We were both excited, but I think I was more!! We took Rachel to see the light show when she was younger, but now that Macy's took over, it's just not the same. It was ok. I don't know if I'd spend the fortune it is to park down there to take David, unless the city is generous this year again and gives us free parking on Wednesday nights. That's only if you use a meter, BTW. Garages might be half price, but I'm not sure. I used to love the Christmas Village. It's not in the store anymore but it's on display at the Please Touch Museum for kids. Now, for the both of you - Add me to the Evanescence fans!! I like them a lot, too. SSM - I've heard of Thrill Kill Kult, and while I'm not a religious freak, I am Catholic and I wouldn't have been able to watch that. I'd have left. Now, as to why we're not going - it's money this year. We belong to the fan club and are elligible for pre-sale tix, but the pre-sale was September 1st. We just couldn't scrape together the 150 bucks for the tix. Even if tix were still available, we have our money allotted for other stuff now, including Christmas. -------------------- |

Sorry you can't go too
I know it's an expensive ticket, and you have 3.Oh yeah GWAR I forgot about them, I saw them years ago too, probably in the 80s. I never liked them tho. Manson is OK, I think he's very talented and somewhat of a genius but I'm not totally into the music. Same thing w/ TKK I got in for free and one of the last shows at the old 9:30 Club in WashDC very nostalgic place going back to the mid 70s like NY's CBGBs (well not quite) but they closed and built a new, bigger club elsewhere in DC. Anyway it was a spectacle of a show I was so horrified I couldn't leave or move my eyes away!! |

VG- That's so awesome that Rachel won that guitar...that would have been SO exciting for any kid!! She's looks like a really sweet girl and so cute too! I didn't see the pic of you son though...I couldn't find it? but I read the thread & heard about the little guy he's @ 3 yrs. now? Hopefully someday Rachel will have some interest in playing it would be a great experience for her
Did you used to play?I haven't seen the light show in many years, It wouldn't be the same without my Nanny anyways. We always took the train & then walked, it was much easier the train was part of the tradition that made it all the more fun to us kids. Parking is very expensive in Philly if you don't have your own spot or can't find one and you darn well better know how to paraellel park!! The PPA WoW, the Christmas Village is now on display at The PT Museum...that's so weird but COOL! That museum is great for kids I remember the first time I ever went I didn't want to leave. I'm sorry that you can't see TSO this year...that stinks Evanescence! SSM-My best guy friend growing up was all about GWAR so I really had no choice! The have some really catchy guitar riffs & I do like some songs but they are pretty vulgar. You have to take it for what it is...It's not who they really are as people...they are actually pretty normal people believe it or not!As for Manson I like some of his songs. I saw him at Ozzfest 2003 and I thought they were pretty good! They did this kick-ass version of Soft Cell's (80's band) "Tainted Love"...very Dark the way the song should have been. They video was pretty cool too! I was always getting free tickets myself when I was younger I wonder why? Yeah, there was this cool place to see local yocals & others @ here when I was younger called The Cell Block. If you were in a band you had to play there! It was neat too, It looked like the inside of a prison (not that I know what that looks like ) The walls were castle-looking grey blocks, with chain link fence (Under 21 section where I used to be) cool lights, barbed wire it was a Heavy Metal dream or something like that. It burned down around the same time grunge took off! Hmmm... |

JCW - Ok, there are plenty of pics floating around in here of my babies. Yes, he's 3, Rachel's 9-1/2. Here's another link for ya so it's easier: More Pics
No, I never did play any instruments. I have zero musical talent. I love to sing, but can't carry a tune to save my life. Guess that's why I write instead. I used to go to the Cell Block, too!! I loved that place. Always felt right at home. But, I was in the over 21 section. As for Center City, I rarely go there. I usually shop in Jersey, South Philly, or Franklin Mills - I like places that have their own free parking lots. I happen to be very good at parallel parking BTW. I live in the city so that's all there is. The PT Museum moved. They're now in Fairmount Park - and I don't know my way around there at all. I drove down to the Art Museum with Rachel and got spun around there, too. And Fairmount Park isn't a good place to get lost!!! -------------------- |
